She had shed enough tears, her skin was numb.
"This is it," she said to herself. "I can't take this anymore."

As she walked towards the cabinet, she could hear Death whispering in her ears,
Inviting her to his bosom.
She made the first cut,
And Death's voice grew louder;
the rest of the world, silent.

But something was off.

Each drop of blood that fell was a picture of her loved ones,
A memory of when she was happy.
She wanted to stop,
But then she didn't
Because she remembered how cruel the world was-
And that she'd had a live experience of how bad it was.

As she cut further, her skin turned numb,
And she didn't know how.
Then she wanted to stop, she really did;
But her hands didn't let her.
Death's voice was shouting; he was standing next to her.
She somehow willed herself to stop.

She reached for the towel to wrap around her wrists, to stop the flow of blood;
But she couldn't.
She figured it was too late:
She could already see a pretty dark-haired lady,
'Wasn't this the reaper?' she thought before the darkness engulfed her.

She wakes up to a blinding bright light, and tries to focus on her surroundings.
She sees the worried look on her parents- her usually composed dad is visibly shaken while her mom,
Her mom is sickly pale from crying herself numb.
Looking down, the scars on her hand remind her of what she did,
And she is instantly filled with regret.
How could she do this to her parents?
And her five year old brother who didn't know much, but had sensed something wrong, because he now comes to her and gives her a big hug.

The wall in front of her reads
"Live everyday like it's your last."
She vows never to cut again, or to self harm; for wanting to die is pure selfishness-
She realizes now.

Sunshine peeps from behind the dark cloud now.
The demons have left her, she is no longer a sinner.
