Tom the ghost was playing
with children in the park.
He loved to come out in the day
he didn't like the dark.
He'd walk through things and fly around
and do things, to make kids giggle
Like ski up the slide or rock the horse
or make the swing chains wiggle.
The chief spectre wasn't happy and
told Tom it wasn't right.
"You have to learn to be scary,
You have to come out at night,
You have to rattle a ball and chain
and make some eerie sounds".
" Push your legs down through someones ceiling
or your head up through the ground".
Now Tom just couldn't get with it
He couldn't make people jump.
He couldn't make the ball chain rattle
or make things in the night go bump.
"What am i to do" Tom did sigh
"I simply can not do it,
there is no evilness in me
I'm just a friendly spirit".
