Looking Back at my Past

A/N: This book will contain spoilers and I don't recommend reading this if you have not watched the anime.

Y/N P.O.V

As I took what little belongings I had I remembered what events got me to this point. 

My parents were killed by a noble family and they kidnapped me when I was ten.  The cells were so cold and the nobles would laugh at me when I cried.  When my kidnappers had company they would take all their prisoners and show off their scars.  The guards would only look at us with pity, but they wouldn't help me no matter how much I cried.  But by far the worst part of that experience was when the prisoners would become friends and we would watch each other be tortured to death. 

Finally one day I had enough.  There were too many scars on back and arms to count.  The guards took me out of my damp cell because I was the last one left alive all my friends laid dead around me.  I grabbed one of the guards daggers shoved it into his leg and then into his chest.  I killed them one by one.  I gave the guards a quick death because they weren't totally cruel to us, but the noble family I gave long slow deaths, just like the ones they gave my friends.

After I escaped from my tortures I lived in the forest hunting danger beast until the Imperial army found me.  There were two generals, I heard the guards call them Najenda and Esdeath.  Esdeath told two soldiers to go and kill me. Before the other general could protest I killed both of the soldiers.  General Esdeath said she saw potential in me and wanted to train me, but she scared me.  General Najenda saw my expression and said she would use me as an assistant.

Najenda trained me to become a professional killer she also pulled some strings and got me promoted to sergeant.  Once my training was complete I got my Imperial Arms, it was a staff named Inferno.

Time Skip 

Najenda and I are were assigned to a new town where I met a wealthy boy with green hair who was my age.  I could tell his family wasn't like the cruel one I used to know.  I could tell by his face ...... and I thoroughly checked his property and asked around town.  I learned his name was Lubbock, he was a nice kid, slightly annoying.  He wouldn't leave me alone everywhere I went he went.  Eventually he joined the army and rose through the ranks rather quickly.  When it was time to leave the town I was already a major and Lubbock was a lieutenant.

Once again Najenda and I were sent with General Esdeath to go fight the surrounding tribes.  Esdeath was so cruel to the people she killed, tortured, and left alive.  One day Esdeath told me to take five soldiers and scout out ahead, but she was actually using us as bait.  All of the soldiers I took died and I would have too if I didn't have Inferno, but I was wounded.  When I woke up I was in the infirmary and I saw that I lost my left leg.  When I was better the doctor gave me a prosthetic leg. 

When I was leaving the infirmary Najenda came to talk to me, so we went somewhere private.  "Y/N do you think the Empire is being ruled the right way?  Their methods seem too cruel and they don't care enough about their citizens." "I noticed that also, and using soldiers that are lower in rank as bait is horrible.  Not to mention that the way Esdeath treats everyone the same way that noble family used to treat their 'toys'." "Okay, so it's decided we'll leave the Empire and join the upcoming revolutionary army." Then we heard a crash and saw Lubbock laying on the ground. "What are you doing here!" I whispered scolded. "Well when I came to see how you were doing I saw you and Najenda going somewhere and I heard what you said.  And I completely agree with you." "Okay, you're coming too."Najenda stated with a serious expression.

The plan was for Lubbock to forge his and mine records to say that we were dead while Najenda would confront Esdeath and leave a different route, during this confusion Lubbock and I would sneak away and hide at a secluded location in the forest.

time skip

Lubbock and I have been waiting for Najenda for two hours now.  All we have been doing is talking, it was around this time when I finally told him my past.  While I was talking I started to tear up, Lubbock was so sweet and held me.  When I looked up I thought I saw a faint blush on his face, but it must of been the light and the heavy clothing we where wearing. 

When Najenda finally arrived she was missing her right arm.  Lubbock and I scrambled to clean and bandage the wound.  I will never forgive Esdeath for this.  "Don't worry Y/N.  Look I'm just like you now" Najenda said with a kind smile.  I looked up at her returning the smile.  "Come on guys lets go find the Revolutionary Army!" Lubbock exclaimed.  Lubbock was holding Najenda's gun and his Imperial Arms Cross Tail while I grabbed my staff, Inferno.

As I took what little belongings I had I took a deep breath and looked at the rode before me.
