"The special boy will break your curse."

That was the message Katie mysteriously found on the floor when she visited the infamous Kawatche Caves for the millionth time (what else were you supposed to do in Smallville, Kansas your whole life). As Katie landed onto the couch in her living room, she wondered who it was from or how it just showed up there since she had been by herself but she didn't have time to ask. Her freshman year would start the next day and she was incredibly excited but at the same time, she was dreading it. She had the power of heartbreak. Sure it sounded harmless when someone first heard it but it was definitely much worse than you realized. Everytime she got close to a boy and let them go, they got really heartbroken and this wasn't, "I'm really emotional," heartbroken, it was more like,"I genuinely can't go on living anymore," heartbroken.

That was what Katie's first love did. His name was Daniel Smith. Katie was 7 and so was he. They hadn't been officially official but it felt like it to them. Katie admired Daniel's every move. That was until Michael Bunch came and Katie grew tired of Daniel and finally told him it was over. One night later, Daniel was found on the ground near his house dead. Since he was directly below the window of his room, everyone knew he had killed himself. Even Katie. No one suspected it was her and though her parents knew about her powers, they didn't dare tell the police it was their daughter.

She soon snapped back to the present as soon as the doorbell rang."Could you get it honey?" Katie's mum asked."Sure mom." She went up to the door and asked,"Who's there?" The person replied,"Your worst nightmare!" She opened the door. "Brooke, next time you try to scare me, don't be so accurate to call yourself my worst nightmare." "Wow, offensive much, Katie," and they hugged like they hadn't seen each other in years. Brooke was Katie's best friend as well as her only one. She was also the only one other than her parents that knew her secret."So, how was Fiji?" Katie asked. "It was absolutely amazing. If you weren't stuck here in Smallville, I would've stayed there forever!" Katie laughed and was about to ask how long the flight back was when she remembered about the note in the caves. Naturally, she told Brooke.

" 'The special boy will break your curse?' Seems a bit voodoo doesn't it. I mean, this person is talking about your meteor power right?" "Yeah, I'm sure about it but the real question is how does this person or these people know?" Katie wondered. She was getting really concerned about how the person from the note knew about her powers and she really wanted to know who this person was."Well," replied Brooke," I wouldn't worry about that too much considering that freshman year starts tomorrow so you'd better be prepared." "Brooke, please don't remind me." "I have to, child! It's the only way you'll actually do it." "You're right. I'll see you tomorrow then?" "Heck yeah you will," Brooke exclaimed as she went back outside," Bye Katie." " Bye Brooke." As Katie went upstairs to her room to prepare for the first day of freshman year, she prayed to God that no-one would die because of her but she already knew her wish wouldn't be granted.

That's what I've been working on so far, guys. This story is meant to be based on the TV show Smallville (If anyone reading this watches the TV show Smallville, they will get the stuff in the blurb and the Kawatche Caves). I know it is a little short but I'll try to make my chapters longer.
