I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing and snuggle further into my pillow, drowning inside of the comfortableness.
My phone stops so I sigh, planning on returning to my peaceful sleep which I haven't had in a long time.Every morning my mother had left early for work so it left me to cook breakfast. You'd think that my father would take place in cooking but usually there was an excuse behind he would never do it. Me not wanting to be disrespectful in any way chooses to believe everything he says on the outside but bury every lie on the inside.
Of course Kate could have offered to help but typical Kate wasn't capable of doing anything apart from fashion and snuggling up with her boyfriend, Lucas Gottesman, who held his own business in several parts of the world.Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy but he's dumb for being so committed to the relationship while Kate will hit on any hot guy the moment his back is turned.
I hear light snoring beside me so I turn my head to the left seeing that Caleb Rivers is still sleeping although he should have been up minutes ago from the looks of the clock sitting five feet away on one of the many beige walls.Last night we spent our time talking about things, some in which ate private but managed to trust each other with. I feel awful for falling asleep in the middle of one of his stories. It wasn't like it was boring, I found it to be interesting and tried my hardest to stay awake. Honestly, I can't remember when I had fallen asleep.
His pink lips are partially open and his hard chest rise and fall in unison with mine at the moment up until the point where his body takes a deep breath of fresh air. His jaw clenches and he turns from his back onto his stomach, using his arms as a pillow. At this point I'm confused on what he could possibly be framing about when his eyebrows knit together in worry, his hands ball into fist, and a growl is buried deep in his throat.
It seems as if he is going to say something but its clear that he does not talk while he is sleeping like I have been falsely accused of by, Emily Fields, when the real culprit just so happened to be, Aria Montgomery, at one of our sleep oversee when we were younger. It's sad really. When you think you'll always have your best friends by your side when really they transform into a memory once you get older.
Caleb Rivers eyes snap open and he's breathing heavily slowly coming to relax when his eyes land on mine. He murmurs something incoherent under his breath then sits up. I follow in pursuit. "What's wrong?" I ask a bit hesitantly. He seems angry. Clearly he doesn't want to talk about it so I restrain from asking again but I grab his hand as a signal, telling him that it was going to be okay.
He doesn't grab my hand back but he doesn't pull away either so I don't mind. I let go of his hand after a while and he looks at the time before getting out of bed. "I think I'm going to take a shower, I had clothes put in the closet for you." with that says he disappears into the bathroom and I turn to check my phone to see that I had a call from a random number but no calls from my family. You'd think they'd care enough to call, my mother especially.
I sit my phone down and walk inside of the closet where there's half of the closet Caleb's clothes and the other clothing that I couldn't identify with a brand. I grab a white peplum dress with floral lace and look at the tag that showed a signature, Rivers. I put the dress on and immediately fall in love with how well the measurements are.The dress this absolutely stunning. I pair the dress with classic platform white pumps with a gold zipper on the back and brush my hand through my hair a few times managing to place my wavy blonde hair inside of a well made pony tail. After I'm done getting dressed I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
"You look beautiful," Caleb compliments and I turn around to see him dressed inside of his black suit, leaning against the door frame. I blush when I thank him. Beautiful is something that I have never been called before. "We should get going." he holds out his hand for me and I walk closer to them feeling something spark when I finally grab onto it.
As we're walking down to the garage I take this time ask, “How come I've never seen this dress before?"
"I was working on a new collection, that dress exceeded my expectations so I never released mostly due to the fact that no one could pull it off," he looks down at me with a genuine smile. "Somehow you managed to do it." I blush a crimson red.
We go out into the garage and out of many cars he picks the white range rover. I'm beginning to feel nervous about helping him because I don't want to ruin anything. On the way there we stop at The Brew, to get a cup of peppermint mochas and then continue to the giant building that seems like it could be seen all the way from Philly. "Don't be nervous, you look beautiful and I know your going to do amazing." he tells me once I get out of the car.
Cameras go off but I'm used to it so I pretend like their not there and follow Caleb into the place noticing that there were security guards every which way. "Good morning Mr. Rivers." the elevator man says as he presses the red button. "Same to you." he responds. The elevator door opens and I'm amazed by everything that I see. When I step out everything feels different. Caleb places a hand on my back and leads me towards a plain wedding dress, another I could not identify the type of. "I call this a Mac Dress." due to the giant bow where the tail bone is I could see why.
"What do you want me to do with this?" I ask. He motions towards the fabrics and then to the dress. "I don't want you to make a dress that Kate would have preferred, make one that you like." he then walks away to his desk and grabs a sketch book to draw a few designs. I on the other hand finally got to work.
Fabric after fabrics, color after color, no breaks, measurements, minor touch ups, perfect shape, and finally a dress that I could say that I am proud of it.It is a dress inside of my comfort zone and a dress that is less challenging than anything else I have ever done ever since I had started this profession.
Caleb comes back into the room after leaving to attend an important meeting. He is in shock and by the look on his face I'm not sure whether that's a good thing of a bad thing.
"D-Do you like it?" I fiddle with my white painted nails afraid of what his answer might turn out to be.He circles around the dress a few times before stopping in front of me. I put my head down but he tilts unlit back up, his face only inches away from mine. "This dress," he begins. "This dress is the best thing I've seen since Beyoncé's wedding dress, I want you to be my partner."
"Really?" I ask. The moment he nods I wrap my arms around his neck tightly, tucking my head in the crook of his neck."So this is the one?" A lady asks from the door way. Caleb pulls away and nod. My heart clenches when all of the pieces are put together starting from the conversation he had on the phone last night. I wasn't the one he wanted to be with, I was the one that would be an asset to his company.
