                                 Prologue

Everybody just assumes that zombies are mindless eating machines. Whenever I hear somebody say this, I just want to punch them in the face and scream "HUMANS ARE JUST MINDLESS POOPING MACHINES". I don't actually do this of course. It would get me labeled as crazy, and the nearby "safe" zone throws out anyone they deem insane in the membrane.

That's if they manage to notice the onset of insanity before the nut jobs kill themselves anyway. Besides, If I get thrown out of their settlement, I won't be able to get anymore necessities like toliet paper, band-aids, or popcorn. Nevertheless, I'm rambling at this point, and what I'm trying to say is zombies are not mindless, they just think differently than humans.

Whereas a human might be concerned about whether or not the hot guy across the street or the cute chick around the corner likes them. Zombies are more concerned about helping each other find a meal, seek shelter, and occasionally ransack a village or two. They don't care about this insignificant little thing called "self". They only care about the rest of the clan so to speak.

Humans might call any large gathering of undead that tend to stick together a horde. However, its more than just that. Its a family, an undead colony if you will. The buildings of this city have become their home, and like any family, they hate strangers who intrude upon their home uninvited.

I'll admit though, zombies do have a bad temper which is probably why most humans just assume a zombie will always attack on sight. This isn't actually the case however. Zombies only attack if they feel threatened, feel like the group is in danger, or they have the munchies. Which is why most stay away from the safe zones. Not only is there nothing but death for those who even resemble a zombie, but they also know it's the humans home. Just as zombies don't like it when humans enter their home without permission, they know the humans don't like zombies entering the safe zones.

You're probably wondering by now who I am and why I'm so knowledgeable on the affairs of the undead. Well, since you asked so nicely I'll tell you. My name is not important right now. As for why I know so much, I rule over this city, even if the humans don't know it. I'm the living zombie, the legend that mothers tell their children to scare them into doing their chores. I'm the Undead King.
