(Female at the side; she will be important later on in the story.)

The first punch glanced Kiara's chin. She noticed too late that it was a feint, though, when the second punch doubled her over and expelled the last bit of choked air from her smooth belly. It was a heck of a shot. Outside of having the wind knocked from her, which she always hated, Kiara noticed a fair amount of pain with the gut shot, which was something she wasn’t used to. A hit to the face, yes, or even the kidney...but the gut shouldn’t have been much more than discomfort, if that. Fortunately, she was used to it all. A veteran of bar fights with various females that she had seen under her lover's arms, even being out of air was something Kiara knew how to deal with. Due to the fact he would beat her down to a pulp for "embarrassing" him in public. She stood straight, eyes bulging with rage, and stared at her opponent—some skank with hazel eyes and natural curly shoulder length hair. The female tried to stand tall, but she was about to pee her pants because of the menacing glare Kiara was providing. Kiara had her where she wanted her. She looked over to her lover and saw that he was speaking to another girl which angered her even more.

“You…little…” Kiara took a lurching step forward with each word. On the third, she swung: “Bitch!”

The blow felt too sluggish. Kiara knew the second she launched it. The spry, smirking beauty ducked under it. Before Kiara could even register the dodge, however, another body shot, this one to her ribs, sent fresh ripples of pain through her torso. She didn’t fall, she made absolutely sure she did not fall but it was a lot closer than she’d have liked. In other clubs, where she was more well-known, her reputation would have already taken a beating whether she won the fight or not. The girl went in for another shot. Kiara shoved her off. Seeing the girl scoot back so far against the weight of it gave her a second wind. She covered the distance between them. Threw three more punches that did land. The female fell.

Then, she stood again.

It was unreal. Between the pain in her guts and ribs and the general confusion (some would call it being bloody drunk), the sight of the girl on her feet after the patented Kiara left-right-left was not something she wanted to see. She threw a hay maker that the girl ducked but didn’t parry, then another that the female swung under again—and responded in turn with an uppercut. Click. The sound of Kiara’s upper and lower rows of teeth making unplanned contact sickened her. Still, she kept her feet. She had to. Falling down was not—

.....

Kiara woke up in the hospital with a bad ache--both in her head and her pride. Warm tears slid down her cheeks as she stared at the man she was dangerously in love with. “How could you do this to me?,” she questioned, her throat sore from the effort of speaking those painful words. "Do what? You did this to your damn self!" She winced from the loudness of his voice and knew not to reply. She remained silent and continued to listen to his rant. "I don't even know why the hell you even started with her, you should've known your ass was gonna get beat. You don't know how to fight!" "W-well.." she began but was interrupted. The moment he cupped her aching chin, she whimpered in fear. She blinked twice as his obsidian eyes glared into hers. "Shut the fuck up. You don't know how bad I want to beat your ass right now. You embarrassed me! You should've just sat your ass down and left us alone."  Her brows furrowed in confusion. Her thoughts were jumbling in her aching head.

:"How could he even say that to me? After all the shit I've been through with him? I gave up my friends like he said I should do. Shit, I even gave up my dreams cause' he didn't approve. I was his girl, not the ho' that was cuddled in his arms." She shook her head in disgust, at the moment, the sight of him was revolting. "Fuck you shaking your head for?" His eyes danced up and down her body.

She mumbled, "You're a bad habit I need to get rid of."
