The beginning Of A Miracle~1.1

“you are hereby sentenced to live among the humans on the main land.” the High Priest proclaimed, shouts of protest went up through out the town.

“Silence!” he roared, quieting every one, “i have seen enough to finally make this proclamation, and as the absolute authority, it is to be carried out,” he raised a gnarled looking rod he had next to him, and pointed it down at all of the towns folk, “i here by banish all Inverti from the seas, to live their days in exile.”

and with that a hideous purple glow appeared and swept through the crowd, hitting a few here and there, both mated and not, which meant that this light knew who was going to be Inverti in the future and banished them as well, children, even the children were not spared.

I was no exception. The light tore through me and I felt like it was ripping apart my very soul, I knew this was the end of my life down here so I took a final look around, I saw the people crying as they saw friends and loved ones vanish from sight, never to return to the sea again.

ADRIAN'S POV

**

I sat up straight in my bed dripping in sweat, and took in my surroundings. My small apartment was as quiet as a mouse, I laid back down still breathing hard, the same dream again, it happened enough times that I didn't worry about it anymore, my eyes were drifting shut again when my phone went off, I picked it up and checked the caller ID and smiled when I saw it was Kathy.

“hey girly whats up!” I said.

“Oi, so what you got planned for today babe?” she asked.

I grabbed a lock of my hair and began to twist it, “um, well you want to hit the clubs tonight?”

“meh, I don't know it seems like we've been there a little too often don’t you think Adrian?”

getting out of bed I chuckled, “yeah I guess so, but what else is there to do in this small beach side town?”

she thought for a very long time, “yeah I guess your right, so instead we are going to go on a road trip!”

I fell over while trying to put my pants on, “What!” I yelled.

She just giggled, “Come on, it'll be fun.”

I laughed with her, “sorry you know I got a job.”

she sighed, “Adrian, babe stripping and being called 'Rory', is not the best profession to be a part of.”

“and why not? Do you see how much I get paid? I mean really? Just a few turns on a pole, and a little skin and bam! That's one thousand bucks.”

“well I still think you should go back to school, what happened to the singing? Theater? Acting? Your still only twenty, you still have time.”

they say silence is a sure tell that the person didn't want to talk about it, but of course she kept picking at me, “Adrian? Adrian! ADRIAN!” she screamed

“what!” I yelled back.

“you spaced out for a sec.”

“yeah well it is seven in the morning you know, and I did work till three.”

“ah, the life of a stripper.” she sighed.

“goodbye Kathy.” I said and hung up.

While I got ready for the day I felt like something big was going to happen, I wasn’t sure what, but when I thought about it, it sent chills down my back, and something in the pit of my stomach do twists and turns.

TRISTAN'S POV

the day was finally here I was finally getting the hell out of this dump of an apartment, “Hey Tris!” my sister called.

“What?”

“were you going to keep this vase looking thing?”

I was on my feet and out the door snatching the Urn out of her hand, “yes!”

her hands were up in surrender, “okay, sheesh” Diana said, “whats so important about it?”

I cradled the urn in my arms, “it has my dog's ashes in it.”

her face fell, “ I’m sorry Tris, I knew how much he meant to you.”

“it's okay, he was my best friend, and he's always been by my side until the end.” I inhaled shakily, I was not gonna cry again, its been months now, “i can't leave him behind anywhere.”

“alright, that’s all you gotta say instead of snatching!” she punched my shoulder playfully.

Diana and I have been together forever, even though I was adopted I still loved her like a sister, we've been through everything together, and she's the first person I ever told I was gay too, I was so happy that she understood and supported me, we didn't have a lot, my adopted parents said they were okay with me being gay, but they never gave me a second glance after that, and it hurt.

But today was the day I wished for, it was time to move out.

Diana tackled me to the ground, and just held me, “you better call me everyday, and be sure you leave that empty room open for me when I move out in a few months.” she said softly, almost like she was trying not to cry.

“i will,” I kissed the side of her head, “i promise, maybe I’ll have a boyfriend by then.”

she got up and scowled at me, her eyes wet with tears, “not before I interrogate....i mean meet him first.”

I laughed at her and got up, “okay, I promise, there's not much to do in the town though.”

“hey, you trying to make me regret looking out for you?” she asked getting in my face.

“Nope, just don't want you to complain everyday.”

she slapped me again, we hugged for the one last time, I jumped into my car and drove to my new life.
