Sulli

When I got back to my apartment, I didn't even take off my shoes at the door and sat on the sofa and stared blankly at the floor in front of me.
Why did I do that? Why was I so stupid?
I stuff my face in the pillow in my lap and scream. When I look up, Heemin and the rat's nest on the top of her head greet me and I almost scream again.
"You, scared me."
"Good." She walks into the kitchen and grabs the carton of orange juice out of the fridge and pours some in her mouth. She has a habit of eating things in the "wrong" order according to American society; beef bulgogi, pizza, cake for breakfast, bowls of kimchi stew for lunch, waffles for dinner.
"Why must you drink it out of the carton? You could actually USE the glasses in this house."
"Too much work. And besides, it's not like you drink this stuff, anyway."
"Whatever, it's still dumb and unsanitary."
"

Why are you so salty this evening?"
"No reason."
"It's painted all over your face. And I should know, I'm an art major."
I sigh. "Fine, I saw Jaebum tonight at the diner tonight with Kaira and the girls."
"I told you not to go out tonight, didn't I?"
"That's not why you wanted me to stay in."
"That's besides the point. I was right, wasn't I?"
Sighing, I shake my head in agreement. "It felt so nice to see him again. Even if it was only for a second."
"Don't you remember what he did to you?"
"It wasn't all his fault, I could've been a little smarter."
"And now you're protecting him," she says as she rests her elbows on the island and herforehead on her palms. "When will you accept that it wasn't your fault? He did this to you, not the other way around."
"Just calm down, Minnie, it wasn't that bad."
"'Wasn't that bad?' Honey, you cried for weeks and haven't been the same since. And you say it 'wasn't that bad.'"
"He taught me to be smarter. If he didn't do that to me, I'd have gotten hurt twice as bad."
She groans, "I can't understand optimistic people." Min takes a swig of the orange juice and puts it back in the fridge. "I'm going to bed, Miss Sunshine. Get some sleep so you won't look dead tomorrow."

I wake up to sun pouring through our open window, blaring right in my face. I groan. Why? Why wouldn't the shades be down? Why wouldn't we have curtains?
Because not everyone is an emo, aesthetic photographer like you, stupid.
Shut up, self.
With pleasure.
At that, I get up and got to the bathroom, brush my teeth, etc. When I walk out I bump into a sleepy, disoriented Mark and he falls over.
"Woah, sorry dude, didn't see you there," I say as I help him up.
"Never heard that before." He brushes the wrinkles out of his joggers. "That can't be said for Jackson, though."
We chuckle a little bit.
"What about me?" His bed-headed, sleepy-faced, head adorned with his thick-rimmed glasses pops up from behind his stack of pillows.
"You're short," Mark blurts as he walks into the bathroom.
Jackson's mouth hangs open in offense as me and Mark laugh at him.
"Jerks."
"Well I'm off to the cafeteria," I say, slipping on a shirt.
"Don't forget your key."
I grab it off my bedside table. "Got it. See you guys later."
