Adam was born on a warm October evening in 1964 to parents Jack and Mary in Lincoln, Nebraska. He had a younger brother named Billy (who had Autism from birth) and two older sisters named Charlotte and Daphne.
Growing up, life was not easy for Adam. Adam barely knew his father Jack, because Jack passed away from Lung Cancer (after smoking for 59 years) when Adam was only 12 years old. Since Adam was the oldest young man when his father died in the family, Adam had to take on his father's responsibilities such as working at the Mechanic Shop that Jack had managed (before he died), looking after the farm which Mary, Adam and Billy lived on just outside of Lincoln and taking care of Billy.
Some of Adam's favourite memories of when his father Jack was still alive were when they would go fishing just the two of them and when Jack taught Adam how to carve things out of wood.
Adam's sister Charlotte was in University to become a teacher when their father died and Daphne worked at a bank in Lincoln as a bank clerk.
Since Adam was only 12 he still had to go to school and do everything his father had done.
