A crisp autumn evening, you know, that kind of evening. Everything was quite alright, it was just another day at the office. Normally there are cases flying left and right, lost citizens, unexplained deaths, drug cartels, the list goes on. As you've probably noticed, I am talking to you, the reader, as if I'm reading this to you. Well, I'm not, I just talk like this when I tell people stories. Just so you know. Anyway, this day at the office was slow, like any other. One serious case, no more cases for the rest of the day. It was in fact, just another day at the office.

Alright, here's the deal. When the author was writing this, he had writer's block. That jumbled mess of an attempted joke up there is...not very good. At least give him some credit though, believe me, it gets better. 😉

That night, there was a knock at my door.
"Hello? Mr. Jansen, are you in there?" This was the voice of my partner, Rebecca.
"Just a minute!" What could she want right now of all times, couldn't she have waited until tomorrow? I finally opened the door...
"Hello there sir, I heard you were a great sleuth and you were the first person everyone said to come to."
This turned out not to be Rebecca, but a different young lady...
