It was warm and sunny day, and Freed was on a train heading to his next job. Today though was a bit different. Instead of going with his team, the thunder legion, he was with Sting and Rogue, the twin dragons from sabertooth. The council wanted more cooperation between the guilds and so chose random temporary teams." When will the torture end," Sting whined.
" What is it with you dragon slayers and motion sickness?" Freed sighed.
" We won't reach our destination for another hour," he continued. Sting groaned while Rogue slumped in his seat.
" Hang in there you two."

-time skip, end of torture-

The job was straight forward. They just needed to take down the dark guild that had been terrorising the town.
" So, the guild is called nightmare's gaze," Rogue said.
" Indeed. It should be around here," Freed said.
They came across the guild, a blue stone castle.
" Let's go!" Sting rushed in.
" Sting wait!" Rogue tried to stop him but couldn't.
" Ugh, let's go make sure he doesn't kill himself," the red eyed mage said annoyed.
The three burst through the doors and were immediately engaged in battle. They easily took out about a quarter of the guild, but the other members were strong and they found themselves surrounded and wounded.
" I've got a plan," Freed whispered.
" I'll distract them and clear a path so you can get out."
" We're not going to leave you behind," Sting whispered shouted.
" You won't. I'll be right behind you."
" Alright, on three," Rogue began.
" One. Two. Three!"
Freed instantly went into his darkness form and used his breath attack to clear a path to the door. Rogue and Sting made a break for it while Freed held off the enemy. Once the twin dragons made it out they stopped and waited for Freed.
" Freed! We're out!" Rogue called out.
Unfortunately Freed, no longer in his darkness form, ran only to be shot in the leg with an arrow. With a scream he fell to the floor.
" Freed!"
Sting and Rogue called running back for him.
" No! Go back and get reinforcements!" Freed called as the doors began to close and he was overwhelmed.
" Freed!" Sting yelled as he stopped short of running into the door.
" Shadow dragon: roar!" Rogue tried to break down the door with his magic, but a barrier now surrounded the building.
" Dammit! We need to find another way in."
" No Sting."
" What do you mean no? Freed's in there! We need to help him!"
" We can't help him if we get caught too. We were misinformed on just how powerful this guild is. We will do as Freed said and get reinforcements."
Sting glared but agreed. As they ran back to the town, Sting with a limp and Rogue grabbing his side, Sting said what had been on both their minds.
" So, how are we gonna tell the fairy tail guys about this."
" We'll jump off that bridge when we come to it."

-time skip, fairy tail guild hall-

" When is Freed gonna get back?" Cana asked drunkly.
She was sitting at a table with the thunder legion and team Natsu.
" He said it it would take a day or two," Evergreen told her.
" I wonder if he's getting on with Sting and Rogue," Lucy thought aloud.
" I'm sure they're getting on fine," Erza said.
" I agree," Laxus spoke up.
" Freed has a way of dealing with idiots like Sting and Rogue."
Just then the doors slammed open. Everyone turned to see Sting and Rogue panting and bleeding. Natsu ran forward and caught Sting while he fell, and Elfman helped Rogue. The master came forward.
" Wendy, they need your help," he said.
The boys were sat down at a table as Wendy came forward and began to heal their injuries.
" What happened to you two? Your injuries are very serious," the young girl asked worriedly.
" And where's Freed?" Natsu asked.
An angered look crossed Sting's face while Rogue's showed guilt. Rogue began," the dark guild nightmare's gaze was stronger then we were led to believe. We tried to retreat and..."
He trailed off.
" Freed bought us some time," Sting continued.
" But because of that he wasn't abel to get out himself. He was...captured."
The hall was silent.
" And you just left him there?" Laxus asked angrily.
" We didn't want to, but we had no other choice," Sting said, pain evident in his eyes.
Laxus saw this and his anger left him. The sabertooth wizards were just as worried as him, as well as the rest of fairy tail.
" Well then what are we waiting for?" Bickslow asked.
" We need to go save him."
" Bickslow's right," Juvia stood up.
" If fairy tail and sabertooth join forces we'll be able to save him for sure."
" We'll master Sting," Makarov began, turning to the Sting.
" What do you say?"
Sting grinned, and so did Rogue.
" Sprained ankle or not I'm in."
