chapter 2

Harry

Harry dropped his daughter to school and headed to his restaurant, 'The Styles Aroma' . He started his business with a small eatery at the corner of the street. Initially he used to hire various cooks who eventually left for one reason or the other but then he found Gloria who helped him in many ways and now they grew the small eatery into this big three star restaurant. Things were running smoothly with Harry being the owner of the restaurant, Gloria being his head chef.

"You're late today Harry,any specific reason?" Gloria asked as she walked up to Harry once he entered the kitchen.

"Its Maddie's first day of school today. She wasn't easy to handle at all. You know how stubborn she is." Harry said as he looked around the kitchen to make sure everything was alright.

"Yeah yeah kids can be tough." She agreed and the day went by like that with them busy being in ordering around the kitchen, checking if all the orders were ready in time and making sure no customer got their food late. Harry then went into his cabin to handle the paperwork.

It was already 2 PM as Harry's alarm went off. He quickly told Gloria he had to pick up Maddie from school and left the restaurant.

Harry parked his car and stood in front of the school's main gate where all the other parents were waiting for their children. One by one children started coming out of the gate. He looked around for Maddie but he couldn't see her anywhere. Almost all the parents had left with their children but Maddie still wasn't out of the school and this made him worry.

"Looking for your kid?" He heard someone say from behind. He turned around to see a brown haired man walking towards him.

Harry just nodded.

"Me too. Lets go look inside,yeah?" The man asked pointing towards the school.

"Yeah lets go," Harry said as they started walking inside.

"I'm Louis Tomlinson by the way." The man extended his hand towards Harry. "Harry Styles." Harry said and shook his hand. Harry now noticed his features properly,he had blue eyes and his hair was very fluffy with fringe falling on his eye. Harry had this urge to fix his fringe but stopped himself as it would be weird if he did that.

They walked to the principal's office to ask about their children. As they entered the principal's room,Harry saw Maddie sitting in front of the principal beside another boy of almost the same age. 'Probably her classmate' Harry thought. He wanted to know what she was doing here,did she get in trouble on the first day of her school?

"Brandon!" Louis yelled and went up to the little kid sitting beside Maddie. "What did he do?" He asked the principal while glaring at the kid.

"It was not me! She did it!" The kid pointed his finger at Maddie.

"What did you do Maddie?" Harry asked as he stood beside her.

"They were pulling each other's hair and disrupting the class." The principal finally spoke up clearing the confusion to both of the parents.

"Brandon! What did I tell you about not picking up fights with other kids?" Louis started scolding Brandon.

"No wait,don't be too harsh on him I'm sure my daughter here is equally responsible here." Harry said as he glared at Maddie. "Would you mind explaining what's going on here Maddie?" Harry asked her.

"Look daddy,he asked me to share my crayons but I told him I didn't want to. He still took my crayons without asking!" Maddie screeched at Brandon who looked equally angry.

"I told them I'd give them back to you! You shouldn't have pinched me!" Brandon retorted.

"You pinched him for a crayon?! Really? Apologise Maddie,NOW!" Harry yelled at his child which made her cry.

"Oi don't be so harsh. They're just children." Louis said as he tried to cool Harry. "Brandon, you need to apologise too. You shouldn't have touched her things without her permission. Promise me you won't do it next time?" Louis said as he bent down to Brandon's height and extended his hand for Brandon to put his hand on Louis' which he gradually did. Louis took his hand and said, "now say sorry to the beautiful girl here."

"I'm sorry I took your crayons without asking." Brandon said slowly looking at the ground.

"Now that's like my boy." Louis smiled and ruffled his hair which was equally as fluffy as Louis' was.

"Maddie,what are you looking at? Apologise to him!" Harry said harshly.

"No!" Maddie stubbornly talked back to Harry.

"Don't make me punish you Maddie. I'm not gonna pamper you anymore, its my fault that you're being so stubborn. I should've been more harsh on you. Now c'mon don't look at me like that. You know its your fault. Apologise to him."

"I'm sorry I pinched you." Maddie said in a very low voice.

"And?" Harry asked.

"And what?" Maddie looked at Harry

"And I'll share my crayons with you next time you ask for them. C'mon say it." Harry ordered her.

"And I-I'll share my crayons with you next time." Maddie said,again in a low voice.

"Okay now that's like a good girl!" Louis said as he walked towards Maddie and poked her nose. "Now how about you both shake hands and end this stupid fight here huh?" Louis said as he told both their hands and made them shake each other's hand. He was being so nice and patient about this situation it made Harry smile. He wanted to know more about Louis. He wasn't sure why but he just did.
