“Psst. Sehun-ah,” Luhan hissed, nudging Sehun’s shoulder. The younger twin grunted. Luhan almost pushed him off the bench. “Yah! Look. Looklooklooklooklook.”

Annoyed at his hyung’s persistence, Sehun looked up. Walking towards the doors of the school was a very beautiful girl. Sehun’s eyes widened.

“Way, yeppuda,” he said quietly.

Luhan nodded. “Do you think she’s nice?”

“I don’t know. I’ve never met her before,” Sehun said drily.

Luhan grinned. “Well, let’s go meet her!”

“Um…annyonghaseyo…” I go up to a female student and hold out my schedule. “Um, I’m trying to find…” Before even hearing what I have to say, she walks away, completely ignoring me. I huff. Rude. Was my Korean that bad?

“Annyonghaseyo!” I hear a friendly voice say cheerfully from behind me.

I turn around, and my eyes widen. In front of me stand two boys; they have to be the most gorgeous boys I’ve ever seen. They seemed to have a halo of beauty around them. I quickly try to calm my pounding heart.

I bow politely. “Um, annyonghaseyo! My name is Kim Ae-ni. I’m new here…”

“Nice to meet you, Ae-ni-sshi!” The shorter one says with a bright smile that seems to make the sun shine with even more light and warmth. “I’m Luhan, and this is my twin brother Sehun.” The taller one ducks his head but doesn’t smile. He doesn’t seem as friendly as his brother—or he’s just shy.

Luhan continues, “We’re on the…uh…welcoming committee here at Junmyeon High. So, welcome to Junmyeon High School!” At this, Sehun raises an eyebrow but doesn’t say anything.

“Do you know where class A-1 is?” I ask. “I need help finding it…”

Luhan smiles. “Sure! You’re in class A-1? Cool—me and Sehunnie are in that class.” Sehun rolls his eyes but keeps walking. I notice that he is carrying his own bag as well as his brother’s.

He’s probably just shy, I think to myself, if he’s nice enough to carry his brother’s bag for him. Sehun sees me staring at him, and his lip slightly tilts up in a bashful smile.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a group of girls glaring at me. I wonder why; I’d never seen any of them before.

“Ae-ni,” Luhan says, drawing my attention back to him. “Did you hear me?”

“Hm? Oh, I’m sorry, what was it?”

Luhan rubs the back of his neck. “I was just asking where you’re from.”

“Luhan,” Sehun says quietly. “Don’t ask such personal questions.” His voice is deep, and he has a slight lisp.

Wah~ how cute! But he gives off such a manly image... I shift my schoolbooks in my arms and look forward. I feel very happy and lighthearted. My first day at Junmyeon High isn’t half as bad as I expected. I already have two friends.

“Here, let me,” Sehun says gently, taking my books from me and holding them in his arms instead.

I hesitate. “Can you really carry all that? You have two backpacks on already. I can manage to carry the books.”

“I’ve got it,” He replies.

“Sehun-ah has always been the stronger one out of the two of us,” Luhan muses. “I think it’s his height that makes him seem so manly.”

“You are pretty tall,” I agree, looking up at Sehun. He almost smiles again. A bunch of girls are walking towards us now, and they shyly look up at Luhan and Sehun.

“Lulu oppa, please accept this~!” One of them says, holding out a card for him.

He smiles angelically. “Thank you.”

The girl’s face turns bright red, and she bows, embarassed. As we move past them, I can hear the girls giggling. “You did it!”

I see Luhan slip the card into his pocket without even reading it. Sehun nudges me. “He gets little love notes all the time. It’s really very bothersome.”

“I’m not the only one,” Luhan teases. “You get them, too. The girls like him even though he acts so cold. They call him Mr. Chic and Cool.”

“Yah!” Sehun says in pretend irritation. “Mr. Chic and Cool sounds better than Lulu.

“Mr. Chic and Cool sounds like the name of a cologne!”

“It’s better than sounding like the name of a poodle!”

I laugh out loud. These twins are ridiculous. “Thank you,” I say to both of them.

They break off from their mini-argument. “For what?” Sehun asks.

“For making me feel at ease on my first day,” I reply. “Listening to you two has calmed my nerves a bit. Thank you.”

“What?” Luhan said teasingly. “You were nervous?”

I roll my eyes. The bell rings, and I start to follow them to class. They pause and stare at me. I blink. “What? I’m following you. You said we were in the same class.”

“Junmyeon High is different,” Luhan explained. “The girls are in that building, and the boys are over here. We are in class A-1—the boys’ class.”

I can feel my face fall. “We’re not going to be in class together?”

“You look so sad,” Sehun chuckles. “Kiyeopta…”

Luhan smiles and ruffles my hair. “Don’t worry, Ae-ni. We can still see each other at lunch and after school.”

I groan. “I have to make friends all over again…”

They just laugh and head to class.

Luhan takes his seat next to Sehun. Sehun is watching something outside the window. Luhan raises an eyebrow. “Sehun-ah. What are you looking at?”

Sehun’s voice is amused. “She’s gone inside, but she can’t find the right room. Maybe we should’ve just gone with her.” Sehun glances over at Luhan. “Since when has there been a ‘welcoming committee’ at Junmyeon?”

Luhan’s face reddens. “Since I couldn’t think of any other excuse to talk to her.” He sighs and folds his hands behind his head. “What do you think of her? Of Ae-ni?”

“She’s lovely,” Sehun said softly. “I like her. She’s not like the other girls. She didn’t get all flustered around us.”

“Speaking of other girls…” Luhan reaches into his pocket and pulls out the card from the other girl. He didn’t even know her name, and she was confessing to him. He sighes tiredly and gives the card to Sehun.

His younger twin stares at it blankly. “This wasn’t for me, Lulu. It has your name on it.”

“I don’t want it,” Luhan replies. “It’s so bothersome when those girls act like that. We’re not idols or something.”

“If they think we’re idols, we’re fine,” Sehun says under his breath. He knows that Luhan can hear him. “As long as we aren’t caught. I don’t want to leave here. I like it here.”

“I do, too,” Luhan admits. “But we won’t get caught.”

Sehun watches his hyung before looking back out the window. No, he thinks slowly after a moment. We won’t get caught.
