"Good morning, dickhead." taunted the annoyingly familiar voice behind me and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse, bigla-bigla nalang sumusulpot ang pinakamalaking tinik sa lalamunan ko.
"Hello, pea-brain," I said sarcastically, raising my eyebrows at him.
"Good to know you're still as charming as ever, dickhead." he said, irritating me even more by sitting right next to me.
Ugghhhh....sarap sabunutan!!!
Kaizer Austin Atienza, everyone in school calls him King. Kasi nga daw he's the "king" of the social circle. If the guy was a movie character, he would fit the typical "mr.popular" cliché perfectly; captain of the basketball team, allegedly the most good-looking guy in school (ano daw?!), center of the social circle; filthy rich guy with daddy issues. Yep, this guy is the perfect cliché.
However, in everyone's mind, he was on top of the social ladder thus the name King.
King my ass, I thought, King kamo ng kayabangan at kalokohan. Siya ang pinakamalaki, pinakananakainis at pinakanakakabwiset na lalaki that I had the misfortune to meet and I swear, not a day goes by na hindi ko pinaplot kung paano ko siya papatayin.
I glanced at him sitting on the bench like he owned the damn universe. I stared at him irritably. He simply raised his eyebrows at me and his smirk grew even wider.
This year, on my junior year in high school, the gods of Olympus (wow, may mythology pa akong nalalaman) have decided to play their dirty tricks at me. I will be breathing the same air as this guy, will be seeing him every single day and will most probably be pestered non-stop for the next ten months because apparently, we were in the same class.
"So," he said, moving closer to me. "What were you up to last summer, dicky? You weren't present sa mga outings ng batch."
"You do know I have a name, right? Stop calling me dickhead nga." I snapped at him. "Besides, why don't you find someone else to pester, Atienza. Kakasimula lang ng school year pambungad buwisit ka na."
The idiot just chuckled.
"None of your business, a-hole."
"Woah, chill out, dicky." he said; holding both of his hands up as if he was a criminal under arrest. "Kinakamusta lang naman kita. I missed you over the summer break, you know."
"Tigil-tigilan mo nga ako, Atienza." Pairap kong sabi sa kanya. Unlike the majority of the girls on campus who'd probably give up their underwear masabihan lang ng "i miss you" ni King, I was not in any way interested to be affiliated with him.
"Bakit?" he said, his face lightening up in mischief. "Di ko ba pwedeng ma-miss ang fruitcake ko?"
"Kinikilabutan ako diyan sa mga pinagsasasabi mo." I told him.
"Kinikilabutan sa kilig?" he teased. "Okay lang yan, fruitcake."
"Uuuggghhhh...." I groaned in annoyance. There he goes again with that annoying pet name. "Magkahanap ka nga ng ibang kausap, Atienza. Pinapasama mo ang umaga ko."
"What crawled up your skirt and died, dicky?" he teasingly asked. "First day of school pa lang masyado ka ng uptight. Did you lose your virginity over the summer but didn't enjoy it or something?"
