Chapter 14 : Sleepovers and Dares

Avery's POV

I heard something crashed on the floor. I figured that is it glass so I was not worried.
I went to the living room and my photo frame of her is not at it's usual place anymore. It's on the ground, cracked. It's the only photo that I can keep because dad was throwing it everywhere last time. Tears threatened to flow out.

The photo was torn too. That just makes it worst.

"Shit, sorry Avery," Dustin apologized.

I tried to maintain my cool but I ended up going up stairs, locking my door and bawl my eyes out.  I may seem overreacting, but that is the only way I can see her face. Now, it's in pieces. I heard a knowck and I put a pillow on top of my ears.

"GO AWAY! GO THE HELL HOME!" I screamed. I was fuming in anger and sadness was felt at the same time. I heard the person sighed. I heard his footsteps walking away. I just burst into tears for what it seemed like ages.

My eyes started to open and I woke up seeing that it was dark outside. I went downstairs and I didn't expect it.

Kate, Aria, Jayden, Chase and Dustin were there watching Wizards of Waverly Place that is played on Disney channel.

"You awake Skittles?" Jayden asked, eyes glued to the screen.

"Isn't it obvious? I don't understand when people ask if I am awake when I already am," I said annoyed. I know I shouldn't vent my anger on him but I can't help it.

"Didn't I tell you guys to go home?"

"We are having a sleepover here whether you like it or not," he replied nonchalantly.

"No. First because I still feel down. Second, there is school tomorrow. So, everyone out!" I explained.

"We are skipping. I feel like it's been a long time since I do that. We could totally cheer you up. Unless you want me to do it alone with you,"

I hit his arm as hard as I can. I thought about it for a moment. A sleepover? Sounds like fun. Meh, why not? If you can't beat them, join them. I searched for some horror movies to watch. They wanted to watch "Conjuring" so I popped some popcorn.

Halfway through the movie, I was screaming.

That was embarrassing as Jayden keep laughing at me. His laugh was genuine, not the teasing kind. I love to see him like this.

NO... I CANNOT FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS GUY! He bring me closer to me and I feel butterflies erupted my stomach. I have never get this close with a guy. The worst part is, Jayden is someone I barely even know. I need to get back on track. I have to keep hiding from my father. Even though he is in jail, I always think that he can just broke out from there. That is why until now, I keep wearing glasses and tucking in my shirt.

After the movie, we played Truth or Dare. The bottle turned and it landed on me.
"Okay, Avery. Truth or Dare?" Chase asked.

The girls know I pick dare since truth is boring.

"Dare," I replied.

"I dare you to kiss Jayden," Kate said.

Oh no! I am so going to murder her after this.
