He was alone. Alone and hurting. Phil laid all by himself, curled up in a blanket. He was still hiccuping and a few tears were still running down his face. When he had stormed in, he hadn’t bothered to turn on a light. He stared into the darkness with a grimace.
He grunted as he shoved his face in to his pillow when more tears started to flow out of his eyes. He didn’t want to be crying. He was angry. He wanted to punch something, not be crying. His aching heart won over, though, so he stayed in bed.
He wasn’t keeping track of time anymore. The last time he saw the clock it was 11:30 PM. He tried to sleep, but for some reason his mind wouldn’t just shut off. I mean, who’s wouldnt?
The love of his life, his boyfriend of 4 years, had just caught him with someone else. Oh, Dan must be absolutely heart broken. As he thought about it, he wondered where Dan was. He didn’t think he heard the door shut during the night. He wondered if he he was okay.
He loved Dan. He really did. It was just.. he had been alone. It wasn’t like they did anything horrible, either. It was just a kiss. And it’s not like he was in love with Peej. He didn’t even start the kiss!
“Better go find him.” Phil murmured to himself. He threw himself out of bed, pawing and wiping at his eyes.
He threw open his bedroom door and squinted at the hall light. Dan had to be home. Phil sure hadn’t turned on any lights.
He quietly made his way over to Dan’s room and lightly leaned against the door. He could hear Dan sniffling and every so often a sob would ring out. It was heartbreaking to hear.
Maybe Dan would understand, Phil thought.
He slowly pushed the door open, the sliver of light that seeped into the room slowly got bigger as Phil tiptoed in. He shut the door behind him, and was glad to be in the darkness again. He could see the silhouette of Dan laying on his bed, his sobs shaking his whole body.
“Dan?” Phil whispered into the darkness as he trudge over to the crying boy.
“Go away.” Dan could barely muster the strength to say. He was dying. His heart was being ripped into shreds.
“Dan.” Phil sighed. He laid down and cuddled up next to Dan.
“I’m so angry with you.” Dan choked out as he started crying harder.
“I know.” Phil whispered. He rolled over and wrapped his arm around Dan. “And I am so sorry.” He had started crying again.
“Then why?” Dan was starting to get angry. How dare he! He threw Phils arm off of him and faced him. “Why would you do this to me?” Dan broke down again.
“I don’t know.” Phil sobbed. “I love you, Dan. I love you so much. I’m so sorry.”
Dan sucked in a breath and sat up. He made a split decision right there.
“No. If you loved me as much as you say, this wouldn’t have happened. Get out.”
“Dan. Please.” Phil sobbed harder as he sat up.
“Get out!” Dan yelled.
Phil jumped out, and trudged his way to the door.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered.
"I bet."Dan huffed.
Both boys eventually fell asleep with tears drying on their cheeks.
