After the war, I was betrothed to Daphne Greengrass as my parents sought to salvage their reputation and rebuild their connections with the pureblood families of Britain as most of their past friends were dead or in Azkaban. Pansy Parkinson had acted in a disgraceful manner during and after the war and so I could not marry her - besides, between you and me - she was always a little on the annoying side.
