The textbook.
300 or so thin pages holding
useless facts that have
determined the futures of
at least 20 kids.
The textbook that has experienced years
of stress,
of anxiety,
of struggling to always
do
better.
The textbook that has witnessed
"personal matters"
that has been a silent witness to
pain,
tragedy,
and has even been there for a few success moments.
That one textbook that everyone hates,
but has been there for literally everyone.
Has seen so much, but not told a single soul.
Has tried so hard to help you pass that class.
So if you ever look in that front part of your textbook and see all the names of people who owned it before you, try thinking of their stories. Of how this one book can bring so many different people together.
