Innocence has died today. I thought I'd never come across her ever again in my life. I thought everything with her was over but hell, I was dead wrong. Everything about us has just been reborn.

It all begun today while I walked down the crowded down town streets. Thousands of thoughts where running through my mind, most of them where stress and about work. The few others where of my life in general.

Suddenly my thoughts came to a stop. Because I ran into her.

It was luck that struck me to help me realize it was her, she looked so lost.

She lumped on a bench by the sidewalk. She was devouring a cigarette with the breaths she inhaled from it.

She continued to have short hair, just like she had in high school. Her body was was very thin, near to being anorexic. Her face had acne scars and dark eye bags hanging from her sleep deprived eyes, it looked as if she wasn't familiar with what sleep was. She was wearing a sleeveless Jean jacket which exposed her tattooed arms, along with a plain tank top and black jeans.

I was afraid at first to walk up to her and talk to her considering how she isn't at all fond of me ever since the incident, but I told me myself to suck it up. The worst that could've happened with us already occurred, there was literally nothing any worse that could happen.

I approached her. As I stood in front of me, she gave me a glare.
"Can I help you?" She asked. She didn't recognized me.

"Adela?...are you Adela Markovic?" I said. She shot me a confused look.

"How do you know me?"

I sighed before I spoke.

"I'm... Jennifer. Jennifer Perez, fr-from high school" I explained, my voice was noticeably anxious.
She glanced at me then glanced into the distance. Her lips slightly curved into a grin, she then took another puff from her cigarette.

Is she thinking about the...incident?

"You look hella different. Grew your hair out hmm?" Her glance paid its attention back to me.

It's kind of weird she didn't mention the incident. Maybe she's over it.

"Ye-yeah. You got those really nice tats you've always wanted. I like them." God that was a stupid comment.

"Yeah." She responded with a slight sigh.

"Adela...what happened to you?.. I'm sorry I just have to ask."

Silence took over for a few seconds.

"Everything. That's what fucking happened. Everything." She looked down at the ground as she responded.

Wow, that was very helpful. Thanks.

"What do you mean by everything?" I asked.

"It's a long story. Why do you fucking care anyway? Plan to rat me out again once I tell you everything?"

Oh there it is. Fuck you.

"N-no. Look Adela I'm-"
"I'm sorry that was uncalled for. " she interrupted. She got up from the bench and dropped her devoured cigarette on to the floor them smooshed it with her foot to put it out. After that she reached her hand into the pocket of her jeans to get out her phone and anylize the notifications on her screen.
"I gotta get going. I'll tell you some of what happened the next time we meet. What's your number?"
