I rolled out of bed the next morning, literally, my head hitting the ground with a hard thud.

"Crap!" I muttered rubbing my head.

I got up from the ground to see a note stuck to my dresser. I padded across the room in my flannel pajamas to pluck the note off the drawer.

Went to the super market, be back by noon. Breakfast is on the table.

-Mom

Well she made me food. She couldn't still be mad at me.

Last night when I got home I apologized for being such a booty hole to her. she just brushed it off though. You can never tell with that woman. I threw on some jeans and and a sweater and went into the hallway. I hit my brothers door as I walked by.

"Get up butt head!" I say only half meaning it. After hearing some muted shuffles and groans, Jack emerges from his room.

"It. Is. Saturday. Bug. Off." he grits.

"More bacon for me." I roll my eyes and walk past him.

"You didn't say there was bacon!" he yells running down the stairs.

"Nah-uh you little brat!" I laugh-screamed.

I sprinted down the hall to catch up with him. As he took the first few stairs I "tripped" hitting my nose on the railing.

"Crap!" I screamed clutching my nose. Jack stopped dead in his tracks and turned around.

"Oh god! Carsyn are you ok?!" He looked genuinely worried.

"I-I think I b-broke it." I stuttered trying my best to fake cry.

"Crap. Stay here. I'll go get you some towels if its bleeding." he said walking off to the bathroom. I smiled in victory and stood up walking nonchalantly down the stairs, jumping the last three.

Upon entering the kitchen I saw the glorious strips of delicious fried fatty goodness sitting on a plate. I immediately walked to the table and plopped down grabbing a couple pieces and munching on them in victory. My thoughts of how good an actor I am were interrupted by my brothers footsteps thundering down the stairs.

"Carsyn!!!!" he yelled.

"What?" I asked innocently.

He whipped me in the back if the head with the towel he had gotten.

I gasped and threw a piece if bacon at him. Jerk.

"Hey, I gotta go out for a while, you good here by yourself?" I asked.

"What if mom finds out?" he asks.

I roll my eyes and pull my leather jacket around me.

"I'll be back before she gets home. Calm down Dad." I say sarcastically. I see Jack tense and immediately cover my mouth.

"Sorry." I mutter looking down.

"It's ok." he sighs.

"I'll be back by 11:30. If not, cover for me." I command.

"How?"

"I don't know you're smart, for the most part, figure it out. Say I'm in the shower. If I'm not back before she gets home I'll just come in the back." I shrug and shove on my combats.

"Ok. See ya."

"See ya squirt." I said ruffling his hair.

He fixed his wannabe Bieber cut and shoved me out the door. I laughed and started walking down the side walk, the fresh snow crunching beneath my feet. Mom wouldn't let me drive anywhere alone yet until I was used to the left side of the road deal, so I was stuck walking. Niall had texted me last night after the parade asking if I wanted to meet up for coffee. Of course I said sure, but when I asked my mom she said she didn't want me hanging out with that 'punk'. Uh. Ashton is extremely similar to Niall and so am I and what happened to 'making friends'?

I shook those thoughts out of my head and walked faster. I only had an hour before mom got home and busted my butt.

Niall texted me directions to the coffee shop and I read them over several times, memorizing them, so I would not have to look at my phone. I needed to focus more on memorizing this town than looking at my phone.

Niall-

Bringing some friends!

Me-

Friends? Liam and Jesy?

Niall-

No. Liam's got work and Jesy has some family thing. new people :)

Me-

oh. ok. I guess. ill see you soon.

Niall-

K.

I roll my eye and shove my phone back into my pocket. Looking at my surroundings I saw several coffee shops, a few restaurants and a post office. After checking my phone again for the name off the shop, I scanned the street for the right one.

Morning Glory Cafe. Found it. I looked both ways heifer quickly walking across the busy street. I hadn't quite gotten used to Europeans driving in the left side of the road so I dodged a few cabs before making it to the sidewalk.

Just as I lifted my head up from the pavement to look towards the front door, someone, or something slammed into me causing me to stumble and hit my elbow on the edge of a bike rack.

"Hey man chill the f-" I stopped mid- sentence.

The man before me wasn't even a man. It was the face of a man most definitely. But that face was decorated with pieces of dead flesh hanging from it. Blue veins were clearly visible under the things eyes and around its mouth. It's skin was the whitest white I had ever seen. Almost not white. Almost, translucent. The creatures eyes were sunken in and hollow looking. It's pupils were the size of pin points and it's irises were a shade of gray I could only describe as lifeless. The things hair was limp and dirty looking, as if it hadn't been washed in days. It's teeth were white also, but they had large pieces of food in them. It almost looked like raw meat. The only thing that looked relatively normal about this man was his lips. They we're full and plump, a very bright shade of red also. Very much like when your lips get chapped and turn bright red.

I was soon snapped out if my state of rude staring when the creature grunted and shoved past me. It walked away, limping, without another word. I tried to run inside and shake the thought if the ugly creature from my mind but my feet would not budge. I was in utter shock. I only moved when I felt Niall's large hand on my shoulder and heard his thick accent.

"Carsyn, love, you ok?" he asked curiously. I slowly turned around and looked him dead in the eye.

"Niall, did you just see that man?" I asked precariously.

"Uh, ya why?"

"What was that?"

Niall looked at me quizzically.

"Ummm. That was a homeless man Carsyn. Have you never seen a homeless person before?" Niall chuckled.

"Of course I have." I snorted. "But I don't think he was homeless. He looked, I don't even know, like , dead almost." I scratched my head.

Niall squinted his eyes and chuckled.

"You've never seen a hard core homeless person before. Living in rural America is a lot different from London, England." Niall chuckled. The kid had a nice laugh. Stop Carsyn.

"I don't know Niall. He looked... ugh forget it." I said throwing my hands up and going inside.

"What's up with you? It's just a homeless person Carsyn. Relax." he said.

"Fine" I huffed.

Listening to Niall and "relaxing" would be mistake number 1.

-AN- so to those of you who don't know this is going to be a zombie appocalype fan ficx. One direction will be in it just not as a band.
