~ New Clubs ~
Opening the double doors of my college, I shiver silently as a cold wave of breeze hits me hard. it was the dawn of fall and winter break was just on the way, the grass on the campus ground was still fresh, a living green, but it probably wont be long before winter bleaches everything around.
The sky was clear, but not sunny and a few rusty red leaves, swayed gently in the breeze. I pull my blue vintage sweatshirt close, trying to keep my self warm.
Sam, my best friend since childhood walked along with me, quiet. We were in the same hostel room which was a few blocks away.
"Do check out the new club added" I smile at the owner of the voice, as she hands me a flyer.
'Another club which I'm never going to join' I mentally speak, as I blindly go through it.
"Shadow friend club?" My attention, shifts towards Sam as she pulls the flyer from my hand.
"The new trend is the shadow friend. Help others without them knowing. To sign-"
"It's just another boring club" I cut her, as she reads out the flyer.
"Let me throw it" I continue, extending my hand.
"Leave it, I may need it" Sam speaks with a small smile.
Passing by the other club stalls, we continue our walk to the hostel.
"Remember, Mrs. Cindy said, it was mandatory for everyone to join a club"
"I know" I sigh.
Being a girl who rarely spoke in a large group, choosing a club was obviously a hard job.
"Ouch!" I scream in pain, as I feel something hit my elbow.
The dumb asshole walks right passed me, without giving a second look. "You could at least say sorry" I try to scream but Sam catches a hold of my mouth.
"Leave it Elise, It's Damon Hastings, you don't wanna mess with him"
Sighing again, I continue walking.
"Why are people so rude? Like, I mean I know, he is hot, cute and popular but you don't have to be arrogant, right?" I unlock the door, as I speak.
"Right, but not every body is like you now" Sam shuts the door, grinning as she speaks.
"That's there" I say sarcastically, as I jump on my bed.
"I'm so exhausted" I hear Sam speak, as she makes herself comfortable in her bed.
----------------------------------------
"Wake up!"
"Mom?" I whisper in my sleep.
"Elise, wake up or else I'm gonna kick you!" I shift in my bed, as I hear somebody shout.
'My alarm hasn't rung yet for fucks sake!' I mentally groan.
My head shoots straight up, as I feel somebody kick me hard.
"Ouch" I cry in pain, rubbing the hurt area.
"Get ready, we got to go" My attention shifts towards the mirror, as I see Sam applying a bit of face powder.
"Sam, class starts at 7:30, its only 5:30 right now" I sigh, checking my phone.
"But we got to go now" She says, looking at me.
"Why?" I ask, irritated.
Ignoring me, she leaves the room.
'Are you kidding me' I roll my eyes.
Pushing myself off the bed, I start making the bed.
"Here" I turn around, as I hear Sam, behind me with a piece of paper.
"The club?" I ask, reading the paper.
"Yes, the shadow friend club" she grins.
----------------------------------------
"But why do we have to join the club?" I ask, as I lock the main door.
"Umm, not we, only you" Sam says, giving me a small smile.
"What! Why?"
"Don't you understand Elise? Shadow friend club is the best club for you"
"And why is that?" I ask, as I walk towards our campus.
"You're gonna help people, without anybody even knowing it was you"
"What do you mean?"
"Okay, so, whilst you were sleeping, I called Jacob and did some research" she speaks with a grin.
"I'm listening"
"So, basically, you're gonna be in a room, there's gonna be a partition in the middle and your partner is gonna be on the other side of the wall. You just gotta talk and help them"
"That sounds fine" I think about it, placing a finger on my chin.
"It surely does"
"Let's go then"
