Gene and Zenix have been friends since the start.
People describe them as "inseparable" at first glance.
And it's true, Gene means the world to Zenix, and vice versa.

Be not world is perfect, there are flaws in obvious places, and flaws hidden deep behind 'normal'.

Trying hard not to fall.

Gene can still picture it in his mind.

They were 5, they met at the playground. They're mothers chatting on the park bench, exchanging phone numbers so their sons could meet up again.

They were 8, Gene's mom had passed away due to stage four lung cancer. Gene and his dad were crying, Zenix was trying to comfort them, but to no avail.

Leave this Blue Neighborhood, never knew loving could hurt this good.

They were 12, Zenix invited Gene and his dad to a beach party Zenix's dad was throwing with his friends. The boys explored the outskirts of the beach until the sunset. Only stopping when there was a outbreak on the beach and Gene had to drag his drunken dad home.

Running on the music and night highs, but when the light's out, it's me and you now.

They were 16, Zenix told Gene he was gay, Gene smiled and kissed him.

They were 17, Gene ran to Zenix's house, once entering he explained his father's outbreak. Zenix- being the worried friend he is, quickly offered that Gene stayed at his house for a few nights.

To this day, they were 18, on Gene's bed, holding eachother close, the fear of Gene's dad walking in loomed over them.

"You know I love you... Right?" Zenix asked, wanting reassurance, Gene simply nodded, before leaning back from the embrace, only to capture Zenix's lips onto his.
