The Wall.

There once was a girl who saw the word in color.
A joy-filled smile, eyes full of wonder.
Behind this Sun were dark clouds and thunder.
Never told the world she was falling under.

Under she fell, as she cried at night.
Sitting alone with dark thought in mind.
Beautiful she seemed wrapped up in plastic.
In reality, she was dying inside.

Behind the wall, she hoped for relief.
Behind the wall, she held back a scream.
All resided in her head, the voices telling her she's better off dead.
Voicing how wrong she was, unworthy of finding love.

Despite this, she thrives.
Thudding heart, hopeful eyes.
Demolishing unwanted pain.
Breaking the wall, cutting her chains.

The Wall.
