I looked down at my hands trying to lessen the tension " Where do you wanna sit ? "
He led the way to a small booth in the corner I sat with my back to everyone and slid the hat and sunglasses off . He went and ordered for us so no one would recognize me . I ran a hand through my messy hat hair trying to tame the beast . I looked up when Harry returned with our ice cream . "Thank you oh gosh it looks just as amazing as it did when we were kids "
He smiled " Not a lot of things have changed around here . So tell me about LA ? What's it like ? "
I shrugged lightly " Honestly I have been there so long it's not as exciting as it was when we were kids . I mean the people are all the same they are not there to make friends they are there to step on each other to get to the top . I can't trust anyone . It's not like home I guess it's the opposite . What about you why haven't you stolen any hearts yet ? "
He ate a spoon full of ice cream before answering my question " I don't have much time for girls these days school and all . Besides I'm still a young I'm not ready to be tied down just yet , but there is no excuse for you "
Before I could catch myself I was frowning . I faked a smile before he noticed " It's complicated I suppose "
We continued our small talk for a few hours as we wondered around the streets of the town I had learned to ride my first bike . I was getting a little light headed so I decided to sit on a bench across from the park " Do you ever think that one day we will all be truly happy ? I mean just happy with everything life period "
He had a questioning look on his face " Yes in this life or the next I believe that one day everyone will be simply happy "
I turned and looked at him I was going to reply , but he cut me off before I could " What's wrong ? "
I faked one of my famous smiles and ran my hand over his " Life is never going to be easy if there is no curves then you're not truly living "
He just stared at me for a moment before looking away " Come on I wanna show you something before it gets dark " He took my hand and led me back to his car .
We drove into the country side . It was so peaceful yet beautiful . After 15 minutes or so we turned onto a dirt road . " Where are we going ? Your not going to kill me and like sell my body parts on eBay are you ? "
He chuckled " No not today anyway . It's a surprise . Just sit back and relax we will be there in 5 minutes or less "
I turned the music up and hummed along to the chorus . When the car stopped he climbed out I looked around we were in the middle of no where . I slid out of the car and met him at a dirt path hidden by trees " Be careful where you walk it's a little bumpy " I followed behind him at a careful pace . He helped me climb over a fallen tree . I gasped when I seen the beautiful spring that had laid hidden in the trees .
" It is so beautiful . How did you find this place ? " I turned to him for a moment .
" A friend . We were nature hiking a while back and this is what we found . I knew you would like it . " He tucked his hands in his pockets and leaned back on his heels .
I ran my hand over the cool water while listening to the water fall off of the cliff and kicked my shoes off into the grass and pulled off my jeans I was getting ready to jump in " What are you doing ? "
" Swimming what does it look like ? You only live once right ? join me or are you going to sit on the side and be boring ? " I didn't wait for him to reply before I jumped in to the water it was colder that I expected , but refreshing in a way . He climbed in a few minutes later after me . I swam around him in circles . My hair was dripping down when I stopped in front of him . I smiled lightly and splashed him . The war was on and I was the antagonist . I tried to swim away from him just to catch me and not let me go . I wrapped my legs around his waist so he could not throw me into the water .
" Your no good Miss Monroe "
I looked up at him with my most innocent look " Me ? You must have me confused "
I put my hand on his chest putting a little distance between us " friends remember ? "
He let me go slowly . I had made the situation really awkward in a matter of seconds " Trust me Harry I am not a girl you wanna fall I can't love you back I ... So just don't okay ? " He didn't say a word he climbed outta the water I stared at him as he grabbed his stuff and walked back down the path I climbed out and sat on the side I couldn't stop the tears . I balled I slid on my clothes and laid in the grass looking at the sky and let the tears flow .
Harry sat down next to me and wiped away one of my tears " I'm sorry I was and ass I don't know what I expected you're a celebrity and I'm just me . I'm just that guy that never got over you I guess . You were my first crush the only girl I ever let get the best of me "
I didn't think I didn't want to . I pulled him in to me we kissed there was so much passion I rested my head on his shoulder " You are more than I could ever ask for , but I can't and it's not because of you and it's not because I don't feel the same because I do its just ... I ... Right now at this very moment I can't let you care for me I can't let you fall for me , because I'm just going to hurt you . And for that I am so sorry I wish it could be different , but it isn't . "
He ignored every word I said and kissed me again " I don't care . the moment I seen you at your moms I knew I couldn't just let you go . I couldn't just forget about you again Annie I have heard your warnings and I have thought over the speech but I want you. I've always wanted you so whether you want me to or not I am going to fall for you "
I was crying again . I couldn't let this happen.
