Joshua rubbed circles on your back while you cried softly, "He's an idiot, he doesn't deserve you." He said while trying to get a look at your face as you looked down and sniffled. "No, it's my fault. I'm the one that doesn't deserve him." You told him, still looking down at your dangling feet.
It was one of those times when you and Joshua would sit on a bricked wall near his house, talking about anything in the middle of the night. He hated seeing you blame yourself because your boyfriend treated you like a doormat.
He seemed startled as you crashed a bottle of soju on the ground below your feet. "Y/N? Let's get you home." Joshua tried to wrap his jacket around you, you flinched away suddenly. "I realise it was my fault, Han-Bin loves me." You slurred. He looked up at you as you stood up from your place and walked off, not thanking him for comforting you for the last 3 hours.
"Han-bin." He growled. "Stupid name, my Korean name sounds better than that. 'Hong Jisoo. I'm taller and better looking too. What does she see in him?" Joshua muttered.
4:00 AM
Joshua still wide awake and unable to fall asleep, decided stayed up. "I never could get myself to confess to you." He realised slowly over time, that his feelings went past being good friends. Joshua got off the couch to answer the door as he heard the sound of the doorbell, continuously ring.
He opened the door to see you standing, weeping in the rain as it poured heavily, your clothes drenched in the process. You smiled quickly before embracing him in a hug, mumbling something in his thick hoodie. Joshua shut the door behind him and guided you to the lounge room.
In no time you were laying down on his chest. Both of you, laying down peacefully on the sofa, you calmed down as Joshua stroked your hair. "He cheated on me." You broke the silence. "You deserve better." He whispered in your ear as he hugged you tightly.
"I'm sorry Joshua. I'm sorry for overlooking you. You've always been more than a good friend..... I'm such an idiot." You admitted. Joshua chuckled, "Yes, but you're my idiot now." He acknowledged before he kissed your forehead softly and told you to catch up on some sleep.
