Chapter one

Nix’s POV-

“Hurry up Nix!” Sam shouted from his room.

“I’m going as fast as I can!” I shouted back, applying my eyeliner. “You can’t rush perfection.”

“Is that what you call it?” he asked, walking into my bathroom.

“Yes it is.” I said. “It’s the first day of senior year and I want to look good.”

“Yeah, well, it’s the first day of my freshmen year and I don’t want to be late.” He said with a frown.

“If you wanted that, you should’ve taken the bus.” I said with a smile before turning around to face my annoying little brother.

“Well they aren’t as amazing as my wonderful big brother.” He said with a smile.

“Nice. Come on.” I said slinging my backpack over my shoulder and heading down stairs to grab a bagel and then out the house to my baby. No not a girl or guy, my beautiful truck. She’s a red 69 railroad truck.

“Let’s go, Sammy.” I called to him, hopping into the cab of the truck.

I clicked on the radio to hear Best Song Ever by One Direction come on at just my faveroite part.

“I said, “Can I take you home with me?”

She said, “Never in your wildest dreams.”

And we danced all night to the best song ever.

We knew every line. Now that I can’t remember

How it goes but I know that I won’t forget her

‘Cause we danced all night to the best song ever.”

I sang along.

“You are so gay.” Sam said.

“I am. Thanks for noticing.” I said with a smile.

@#@#@#@# time skip, Lunch

I walked out of my English class only to be attacked by a wave of purple hair.

“Hey Al.” I said as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

“Where were you this morning?” she huffed.

“I woke up late.” I said. “I’m still amazed that I made it here on time.”

“Well, you should text your best friend.” She said with a fake glare.

“I’m sorry Al, let’s go to lunch.” I suggested.

“Okay let us go.” She said with a smile as she linked arms with me and started skipping down the halls.

“Why are we skipping?” I asked.

“Because it’s a free country and I want to.” She said.

“Good with me.” I said, continuing with our skipping.

“Nix, Ally!” I heard our names being called. “What took you guys so long?”

“Life, Jack, life.” Ally said. “Now, let us eat.”

“Food!” I cheered sitting down.

I was happily munching on my sandwich in seconds, what can I say, I’m a growing boy.

“Nix!” I heard my brothers friend, Ren, cry from across the cafeteria.

“What?” I asked worried. Sam was nowhere to be seen and those two are inseparable.
