louis rode to a halt, as they neared the small lake glistening in the moonlight.

"why'd you bring me here so late?"

"picnic."

"picnic?"

"mhmm."

candles were lit around them, hanging from the oak tree branches.

they sat on the red picnic blanket, enjoying their pizza.

resting her head on louis's shoulder, they gazed out to the endless sky.

"look a shooting star." he said pointing at the shimmering star gliding across the sky.

"It's so pretty."

"hurry, make a wish."

ariella nodded and closed her eyes and fluttered them open after a few seconds.

"what did you wish for?"

"i wished that you won't leave me once you realize that I'm not good enough." looking down suddenly interested in her shoes.

"ari you're too good for me" he brought his hand under her chin and lifted her head to lock eyes.

the space between their bodies declined as she draped her arms over his neck and his arms snaked around her waist and his lips planted on hers.
