Ch.1

BEEP! BEEP! I growling at my alarm clock i slammed it hard to turn it off. I rubbed my eyes and proceeded to get ready for my shift at the dingo. I hear loud stomps in the hall  my sister is parading around like a heard of elephants, opening my door she glares at me "Mom, says to hurry up bitch!" with that slams my door. I then hurry to get dressed and to check on my secret stash of cash. $900 from all my tips I smiled a little inside knowing i'm close to getting to where I can move out since I turn 18 in about 2 weeks. I quickly put it all back and proceed with my day. I avoided my mother and sister as I made my way out the door without them noticing, I head over to the Curtis house to meet up with the gang and my cousin Steve . Apporching the door I walk in to see Two-Bit watching mickey, Ponyboy is reading like usual on the couch, Darry is cooking breakfast. Soda came out in his DX uniform and greeted me with a hug "Hey Sammie!" he said happily. "Well, hello to ya'll as well." I said as they all said hey. Shortly Dally, Johnny, Steve, and Evie came in the door. Evie and I walk with the guys to the DX and we then proceed to go over to the Dingo since we both are waitresses. "Ready for our shift girl?" asked Evie I then looked at her with a smirk. "Girl the day i'm ready for anything is when i'm 18 and saying adios to my mother and her golden child." Evie then agreed and laughed. "Speaking of the wicked witch of the west, I saw her in some short shortes! someone should tell her that short shortes aren't walrus sized!" exclamied Dally. We all bursted into a fit of laughter before those of us who had jobs had to go. Evie, Steve, soda and I started walking over to the DX when soda asked "So how much more till you have enough money for you to move out?" asked Soda. I looked at him and the others and said a few more hundred dollars and i'm good to go." "wait, thought you had enough already?" asked steve. "Technically yes, but i need just a few more hundred dollars to ensure myself to move out of my horrid mother's grasp and her spoiled brat." I said. "How much do you got saved up now?" asked Evie "Almost a 1,000. Ya'll know how long I've been saving every penny." I said. "Yea, and its hard to even consider your mom and sister family." said Steve. Steve and I grew up together most would consider us brother and sister instead of cousins. His Dad is my Mother's brother, who got along with my father at least until he died when I was 13, after that Steve's dad started treating Steve like how I'm treated at home, which is why Steve and I stuck together for so long. We arrived at the DX Evie and I said our goodbyes to the guys and we headed to our own job by the looks of our arrival the dingo was already packed. Checking the floor map Evie has section 3, our other friend Kriss is in section 5 and I'm in section 1 "Ugh, the biggest section has to be given to me I said with sarcasm. "yea but girl you can rock that section plus think of it as one step closer." said Evie as she grabbed her notepad. I smiled and agreed. With in 2 hours the breakfast rush finally slowed down and we then proceeded to get ready for lunch. I then stepped out for a smoke break, feeling the sun shine down a warm summer breeze could be felt all over. "Ah, summer your back once again." I said to myself as I enjoyed some peace and quiet for the time being until I saw a sight that disgusted me socs. I put out my cig and was ready to brace myself. I hurried back inside and saw that the socs were in Evie's section and already they were starting trouble, I gave Evie a look and she gave me a nod that she would be ok.  Once it was 2pm our shifts ended and we were free Evie and I headed over to the DX to see Soda and Steve. I went inside the store part of the gas station and grabbed a Pepsi and came out to see Dally, Johnny, and Pony approaching the DX. "Hey yall." I said. They all greeted us back. "Hey Luna, you wanna catch a movie with us at the nightly double?" asked Dally. Dally and Steve are the only ones that can call me Luna, mainly because I love crescent moons, but that I'm Steve is my cousin/ brother , and because Dally is like my other older brother. There's two people in our gang that Dally loves one being Johnny and Me, mainly because Dally and I had a bond that was weird to explain, but everyone in the gang is like my brotherly family that I love considering my real family dosn't give a shit about me, except my Dad when he was alive. "Sure, but I need to change, Evie you wanna come?" I said. "No, thanks girl Steve and I have a date tonight." she said. "That's ok girl, have fun I'll see ya' at Guard practice." I said. We said our good byes to each other and I went to soda and gave him a hug, Sodapop has been my best friend since steve and him were in grade school, I got to hang with them because I wasn't your average girl. It was just Pony, Johnny, Dally, and I walking to my house. "So what are you gonna do for your birthday Sam?" asked Ponyboy. "My birthday is still 2 weeks away, kid but I'm not sure. I can tell ya'll that once the clock strikes midnight of my birthday I'll be free from the hell hole I call home." We approached my house and luckily when we arrived no one was home so i could have some peace. I went into my room and found my black corset shirt with the rhinestones shaped into a crescent moon and stars on it, with a pair of rhinestone blue jean shorts and my black converse shoes. I then let my reddish brown hair down from its braid letting it be wavy but using some mousse and hair spray I got it to curl, I then touched up my smokey eye make up and stashed away my tips from earlier but grabbing some money for the movies. I came back out and made sure I locked the door as if I never went home and we decided on walking around before we could go to the nightly double. " Is that so called boyfriend of yours still hanging around?" asked Dally. I sighed, Danny Zuko is my boyfriend hes part of the Tim Shepard gang and Dally didn't like him all that much mainly because Dally just like the rest of the gang is protective of me and when we first got together Dally and Steve warned him if he hurts me in any way he's a dead man. I looked up at Dally and said " Honestly Dally, I'm not sure what Danny's deal is these days. It seems like something is up but I can't figure it out." I said. Johnny and Pony just looked at me and could tell it bummed me out but we decided to shake it off and have some fun. "Sam, how come Dally and Steve call you Luna, but the rest of us can't?" asked Pony. I lit up a cig and said " Steve is my cousin and he's called me that since we were kids and Dally basically dose what he wants." Dally then smirked and said " Your also like my kid sister, Steve would have someones ass if none of us were around to watch over you, ya dig?" I smirked and shook my head. We all goofed off til it was dark enough to go to the nightly double and we snuck in the usual way Dally's way. After we got in we headed over to the seats passing a crowd of what seemed to be Socs. I stayed close to dally in hopes of them leaving us alone but to our luck one of those bastards decieded to slap my ass for fun. I turned around real quick to see the jerk with a huge grin across his face. Dally then turned around and belted the guy in the face and said " Touch her again and I'll skin ya!" I then gave a glare at the rest of them and they scurried off as we sat down. The movie was some cheesy beach movie anyways out of boredom I decided to go over to the snack bar for popcorn and a soda. While I waited in line I felt someone's hand on  my shoulder and sure enough it was Danny my so called boyfriend. I shrugged his hand off considering he has been giving me mixed signs. "Why you shakin my  hand off?!" he said with anger. "Gee, I wonder why?" I said with sarcasm I wasn't in the mood for his shit tonight considering I've been having alot on my mind. " Watch your mouth bitch!" he saidwith his anger rising. I then gulped and asked myself why am I being coward, I can fight good and be tough when I need to be but when it comes to Danny, my mom, and sister trating me like garbage I cowardley take their abuse, maybe because I don't want much worse than whats being given, no one in th gang knows how bad my abuse gets just that I get yelled at by my mother and sister, however they beat me but I hide that from them. I also hide how Danny treats me because ever since my dad died I just want to feel loved by anyone even if it ment being stepped on. I was so into my thoughts that I was at the front of the line and grabbed my pop corn and soda and saw that Danny had left already and I headed back to were everyone was. I got back and surprisingly no one questioned me about how long I was gone. "You ok, sam you looked like you've seen a ghost?" Said Johnny. "I'm ok Johnny really, I promise." I said I then went back into my thoughts and began to think I need to fight back I'll be 18 soon and I know my father didnt want this he would be disappointed in me now for letting myself become this way. However with summer approaching I realized the winds are changing so here I go into the winds of summer and change....
