It was a normal day on August in Las Vegas. The weather is hot as usual, the sunshine is so strong and it make the floor feels like it's burning. I sat there with my "I NEED A JOB" sign. I haven't ate for 3 days already. People keep on walking past and pretend they didn't see me. My sight became very blurry and I don't feel my body is working well. I can't really move my body and I felt very weak.
Then I saw a lady, I thought she is going to walk past like what other people do. But she didn't, she gave me a bottle of water but I didn't even have the strength to say thank you to her. So I nodded at her and she smiled and left.
The time is getting closer to 12:00 and temperature is getting higher and higher. I felt very dizzy but the next thing I saw make my mind clear immediately. I saw a person looked like Fernandez. He's very tall, very skinny and with a long mustache the most obvious thing that make me kind of sure that Fernandez is because he always wear the same top hat. He is straight walking towards me and it really scared me. Fernandez owns a shop that sells computers. I also used to owned a shop that sold computers and it was right next to Fernandez shop.
At first we only competed with each other but later he want all the customer to go to his shop instead of mine so he started to make fake news that says the computer that I sells were faked and all my computer were second handed. He make a lot of fake evidence that make people believe him. Then people start not coming to my shop and go to his shop. I stop earning money and all my staff left because I can't pay them. Then my shop closed and people doesn't trust me anymore. I lost my job and lose all the trust from everyone and I got no money so I became homeless.
I will never want to let Fernandez to see me being homeless so my immediate reaction is to find something to cover myself. But I can't even move my hands and legs. I saw some old newspaper on the other side of the trash can but it too far for me to even reach it. At the same time Fernandez is getting closer and closer but I can't do anything. Then I think he saw me because he walked even faster and it make my heartbeat getting faster and faster.
"Hiram! Is it you?" Fernandez asked.
I didn't respond.
"I knew it was you!"
I still didn't respond.
"Ha! You're homeless now huh? Do you need any money? Do you need any food! You loser!" He threw a stack of money on my head and pour all the food he got on my body including a cup of noodles and it makes myself smell so bad under the sun. The soup of the noodles ran down on my face and it don't feel good. But I just can't say or do anything back because all the thing he said were true. He then pushed me and laugh and walked away.
I just sat there and thinking about what he said and what my parents said before they died. Maybe what Fernandez said were true, maybe I am a loser and I need food and money. I just sat there thought. Then a woman looked familiar walked towards me. She's not very tall. Her dress with those flowers look like a woman that used to wear to my shop. She wore a hat and sunglasses so I am not sure what does she looks like, but I am pretty sure that I saw her before.
"Hi my names is Jennica, and I saw what that man did to you. I was thinking that do you need a job? Cause my new shop is going to be open tomorrow across the street and I think I need a cashier for my new opened shop." The woman said .
"Yes, I really need a job." I said "Aren't you the woman that always come to my old computer shop?"
She smiled at me "Ok, so here's my namecard and the address and the phone number of my shop is on there. I hope you can come tomorrow cause it the first day." said the woman.
"Ok, Thank you." I stood up, packed all my stuff and ready to become the cashier of a new shop and start my new journey.
