A/N Hi! So this is my first fanfiction and I'm kind of new to this. If you guys can sometimes help me out, write down suggestions in the comments and I'll do my best to read them depending on how much free time I have 😛 Please enjoy!
Marin's POV
'Great! I'm going to be late again and get detention!' I thought as I raced to school, frantically trying to fix my hair and clothes. 'I don't want to be embarassed again by Clover and unimpress Adrienne!'
Nice to meet you guys. My name is Marin Dupain-Cheng and I am currently 15 years old, almost 16. I am also known as my alter ego, Beetle Bug, who saves Paris from akumas caused by Lady Moth. My best friend is Allen Césaire (A/N Sorry if I spelled it wrong and am already boring you guys out!) who is the owner of the famous blog, The Beetleblog, which is a famous blog dedicated to Beetle Bug (or me) and Chat Noire, who is my partner. I live above the bakery that my parents own called 'Tiana and Sam's Boulangerie Patisserie.' And currently, as you guys know, I AM LATE!
Time Skip
I quickly ran to my classroom and got in right before the bell. Whew! First time I'm not late for 2 weeks. I went to my seat and sat down and was greeted by my best friend, Allen.
"Hey Marin! Wow, first time in 2 weeks how you're not late" he said, teasing me.
"Dude, quiet down! Adrienne can hear you!" I whispered, referring to my golden haired, emerald eyed crush.
"Hey Marin. Glad to see you in class" Adrienne said, turning around to face me.
I squeaked out a 'Hi' and meekly waved my hand. Whenever she was around me, I always get nervous and get even more clumsier than usual.
Adrienne Agreste. A model and the daughter of the famous fashion designer, Gabrielle Agreste. She has golden silk like hair, with bright emerald green eyes, and tan skin. She was perfect. There were almost absolutely no flaws about her and if there was, it's probably barely noticeable. I have a huge crush on her. Not only because of her looks, but also because of her personality. She is sweet, kind, gorgeous, and patient, even when I stutter like a fool around her. What else can you ask from her?
The day passed more quickly than usual and surprisingly more smoother than I thought it would. Before I knew it, it was lunch time.
"Marin! Over here!" Allen shouted, waving his hands to catch my attention. I quickly ran over to him.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked, noticing he had this kind of crazy look in his eyes whenever he got excited.
"Dude, didn't you hear? Adrienne and Clover are currently fighting!" he said excitedly.
I couldn't hide my surprise. Adrienne and Clover? Fighting? From what I'd gathered, Adrienne and Clover are childhood friends. Them fighting? It must be something pretty big to have them fighting each other.
Clover Bourgeois. The son of the mayor of Paris. He acts really cocky and selfish all the time and we're enemies for pretty much the first time we met each other. Which was a pretty long time ago.
"Well? Lets go see it bro!" Allen said, dragging me over to where Adrienne and Clover were fighting.
By the time we got there, there was already a crowd forming around them.
"-time for me! We barely spend time with each other! I demand you to go to my mommy's hotel on Saturday!" a snooty voice yelled. I immediately recognized that it was Clover. I couldn't help but snicker a bit when he said mommy. Who said that anymore in high school?
"Clover! I told you that I had a photo shoot this Saturday. And on Sunday, I'm spending time with Nina! I can't always spend time with you! I want to make new friends you know?!" an exasperated voice punctured the air. I immediately knew that it was Adrienne's voice. Even though she was angry she still sounded like an angel.
"Shouldn't anyone stop this?" I whispered to Allen, who was recording this fight on his phone.
"I don't know bro. This is pretty exciting. I mean, Clover and Adrienne fighting! That has to be news man! But I won't upload this to my blog. I swear." he whispered back to me, already recording with his phone.
Clover noticed that Allen was recording and strutted over.
"Hey Four-Eyes! I demand you to delete that video or I'll have my mommy suspend you!" Clover yelled.
"Not that I care that much" Allen replied.
"Dude, SUSPENDED! What am I supposed to do if you're suspended?! Who's going to be my translator for Adrienne anymore?!" I whispered-yelled at him.
Clover caught onto the word 'Adrienne' and started mocking me.
"Aw! Poor, peasant Marin Dupain-Cheng has a crush on Adrienne! How do you know that you'll have a chance with her? Well let me answer this. NEVER!" Clover said, laughing after.
I was horrified and embarassed. Just when I thought the day was going smoothly, this horrible creature just had to ruin it. Oh no, I hope Adrienne won't hear this.
"Clover, stop" was those two words erupting from that angelic mouth to stop that creature from laughing.
"C'mon Adrienne! This guy has a crush on you! Go reject him!" Clover said smirking.
It'd looked like Adrienne was about to explode from anger.
"That's it! I had enough of you! Why are you always bullying Marin and Allen? Why do you always bully everyone else? Why am I even friends with you?!" Adrienne yelled out, the words spitting out like fire.
Clover looked speechless.
"We're not friends anymore! Unless you change your attitude, I might reconsider!" Adrienne then stormed off to who-knows-where.
The crowd slowly dispersed as I ran off to the direction Adrienne has gone.
'Where is she?' I though as I ran to the park. That was the only place I could think of that will help people cool down. I then heard sniffling sounds.
"Adrienne?" I asked unsure. "Are you ok?"
'Well of course she's not! She had a fight with her childhood, not to mention first friend!' my brain yelled back at me.
My question was met with silence.
"Maybe I should go..." I said awkwardly. I slowly stood up and started walking away.
"W-wait! Please stay here." Adrienne quietly said, still sniffling.
I turned back and looked at her.
"A-are y-you s-s-sure?" I stuttered. Great, she's crying and here you are acting like a doofus.
She nodded at me and gestured for me to sit down next to her.
I awkwardly sat down as silence took over us. I opened my mouth to say something but Adrienne beat me to it.
"W-was what Clover said back there true? That you had a crush on me?" she asked, looking at me with those big emerald eyes that I know I couldn't resist.
I didn't say anything. I slowly nodded my head. After all, this was the only chance I have for me to confess to her about my feelings.
Adrienne looked at me with wide eyes.
"Marin...I don't know how to say this. I...it's just that I have a crush on someone else..." she trailed off, avoiding my eyes when she said that.
I couldn't describe the feeling that I felt right now. Just imagine that something you know will hurt you emotionally and multiply it by infinity. That's how it felt like.
"O-ok...I-I get it...it's ok. I mean, why would someone like you like me?" I chuckled sadly, tears threatening to fall out off my eyes. "W-well" I stood up and cleared my throat. "Good luck with the guy you like" I said sadly. I ran away after that.
"M-Marin! Wait!" Adrienne shouted, reaching her hand out to me. But by then, I was already long gone.
'Happy thoughts' I thought as tears ran down my face. 'You can't let Lady Moth akumatize you. You're Beetle Bug after all. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts....'
A/N Well, that ends our first chapter. To be honest, it doesn't look that great to me. And I just realized I didn't mention Tikki. How could I? Sorry Tikki lovers! I'll be adding her in the next chapter, but with a little twist in it 😜 Bye!
