God was hopeless and allowed a baby to fall. Crows and Wolves, protect her now.

Chapter 1 (Excerpt)

Once upon a time, up above in the Heavens, lived a King with his innumerable children. Every millennium he would grant the Angels a wish that he himself would make true.

Being tired of his role, Rafael Archangel proposed to every one of his brethren that they should wish for his rule as King. Everyone denied his desire for they suspected he had dark intentions. Instead, with an almost unanimous decision, God granted the Angels' wish to create a baby girl to be their mother. She would be the first female Angel making her a popular topic amongst the males.

With his heart in the wrong, Rafael began to have a growing hatred for the child. Being cared for in the palace, Angel Silver was the safest baby in Heaven. There was no way in unless you were part of the staff and only few wingless beings were eligible.

Distraction was now Rafael's game. He started a fire in a village closest to the Gates and that drew attention.

A great roaring fire to bring a King to his feet.

God sent sorcerers to stifle the ravenous flames of Hell. However, their magic was no good against Lucifer’s hand. Red tongues licked the palace walls and plumes of black darkness engulfed the empty space above.

Maids ran and Prince’s pulled along their darlings as they cowered away from the destruction while, alone in the highest room, cried a baby.

Her guard, Archangel Gabriel, stood bravely by her crib and waited for his sister. He knew that she was wingless and could not escape, so he found her in the hallways, told her to bring the other workers, and now he waited.

Silent shadows crept outside the room and, all lined up, stood six shivering servants with Ana in the lead. Quickly, Gabriel picked up two beings at a time and flew them out to the safety of a meadow. Soon, only Ana and an old hunched man were left. Gabriel stepped forward to grab them both but the man pulled away.

“Take the girl first, leave me to protect the child and then you can come back for the both of us." Averting Gabriel's eyes, the old man hobbled to the crib and lifted the child into his arms.

The baby whimpered but did not cry out. Even at a young age she saw something malicious in the man’s eyes. Without a second glance, Gabriel quickly vanished and when he began to fly back toward the palace, a howl went rocketing through the air. Standing on the edge of the balcony was the old man with the child held above his head.

“Since this child has not yet come of age, she has no ability to walk on our so called 'Savior’s' clouds. Watch fools as she falls to Pangaea and burns.” His cloak falls off revealing his stained black wings. Rafael greedily tossed the baby and grinned ferociously as the child’s wings started to molt off.

Acting on instinct, Gabriel shot his arrow and a protective bubble surrounded the girl as she continued her descent into the wild lands.

Every Angel’s cry could be heard as thunder rolling.

Exhausted from the painful fire surrounding her, the baby Angel slept and allowed the fury of the winter winds to lull her to sleep. In a cottage on Pangaea, a woman with feathers black as ink watched what she believed was a star and made a wish.

“Star so bright in the dark of night, listen to a lady who’s bleak and dried. I want some light and joy. Something sweet and coy." At the sound of the thunder, the woman was quick to close her window and she went to hide in her room. She knew better than to stay out when the sky was gray and darkening.

“God is mad. He is filled with rage. Outside is bad. Inside will keep our age. Young and beautiful we are, no more wrinkles that scar.” She like every other crow repeated the mantra and hid under their covers.

Skin covered in snow, eyes sealed shut, nose red and rosy. That’s how the wolf found her. Pawing the body, Alpha Nixon rewrapped the child in its abandoned blanket and curled around her body until the winter winds died down.

He felt an attraction towards the baby but he could not understand why. Nuzzling against her odd feathered wings, the Alpha kept watch over the child. He had just lost someone dear to him yet he did not yet comprehend how he felt. In the morning the child goes to the Crows.
