I am a butterfly
A butterfly who has forgotten how to fly
Been trapped in a cage full of beautiful lies
Hiding in the shadows, drowning in my beautiful cries
Everyone told me to break free
Yet everyone has been tying up my wings
Ironic it is, but for years I had let it be
The irony is killing me, much like a person waiting for an incapable mute to move and sing
Until suddenly a mice came to me one day
He took my strings and break it away
He opened the cage and motioned me to fly
But I said No, and I dont know why.
"Butterfly Fly away!
Butterfly please dont stay,
Spread your wing and fly up in the sky!
I'll watch you as you flutter, I'll be right here standing by"
But then againg, I refused,
I stubbornly said No,
He ask me why, he looked confused,
But no explanation could come out and I settled with "I dont Know"
"Butterfly I'm a little mice,
Butterfly Darkness is my home, in the dirty sewer is where I belong,
But I see you, in the midst of darkness you shone bright! I envy your magnifecent wings,
But why is it the everyday this room is always filled with your beautiful cries?
I cant take it little butterfly, its such a shame, you need to spread your wings little butterfly, You need to fly"
"But little mice, I'm afraid
What if there is nothing left for me to upbraid?
Little mice what if darkness is where I belong?
I've forgotten how to fly, it's been too long
"Hush little butterfly, just go on and give it a try"
With a gust of wind, I flew.
To the light I drew
Wind brushing under my wings
I've never felt so free
I've never actually let it be.
