Yuri stood over a slab which was a step away from her mother's grave. The clouds above her began to darken as she felt a cool wind whip around her.
She was so confused. She didn't know why everyone left her. She lost everything as she clamped down on the on the bitter memory of her mothers death.
As a demon and a member of a warrior clan, she learnt over the years to toughen up but given her painful past, it always seem to have weekend her. "Rest in peace mama..." she whispered as if her mother was looking down at her from above.
She silently prayed while her attention was focused on the black rose resting on the tombstone. Yuri moved closer to the fallen rose but the more she went, she realised it had a print on one of the misplaced petals. It was coated in her mothers blood. Black dahlia was their demonic traditional flowers for the funeral. Why would there be a black rose and a single instead of a bunch."Give yourself time. Mama was so innocent... so instead or mourning we should embrace the beautiful memories we shared with her."
She turned to find to find her older brother Lee jung standing behind her. For a demon like her, to witness their mothers death, she felt the lump in her throat rising but it was quickly replaced by happiness. She had him and her father which are the two most important people she has left where she could fight her life for.
Tall and broad, Lee jung had silver hair and eyes that were black with a rim of luminescent white around his pupil area. He never failed to show his true demon form were he feels most comfortable ."How did you know where I was? And is papa safe?"
Lee jung paused before he met her questionable gaze. She saw the hesitation in his eyes before he spoke.
"...He's safe although he is still... he is still blaming himself for mama's death. Father is going crazy.....I...I... think he is trying to kill himself yuri."
"Im going to kill them."
The moment she said those words, her brothers face paled as he staggered back."Y...you're going to what?" He spluttered. She didn't want her father getting hurt over not being able to save her mother on time. She hated seeing him overdosing on meds knowing hes immortal but attempting it anyway. It pierced her heart, watching her father suffer and being suicidal. At the point he was tempted to drive a stake between his eyes, if she had not made it on time... she couldn't finish that thought. having a stake pierced between the eyes of a demon can kill them same as a vampire having a wooden stake imbedded in their hearts.
Vampires, a sickening, blood sucking breed who where her mothers death wish.
The more she thought about them, it added to the fuel of rage building inside of her. She snarled at her brother." You heard me... I want them dead. Each and every one of them as I bathe in their blood" Lee jung narrowed his gaze on her. When he spoke, it was in a tone that sent chill down her spine.
" I won't let you..."She slipped the Rose in her back pocket before she turned on her heal to leave; only she was held back in an invisible grip.
"LET ME GO! Why? Why cant I k-""BECAUSE IM NOT GOING TO RISK LOSING YOU!"
The grip loosened its hold around her waist as she turned to face him . He looked stung and regretful. She felt a salty liquid drip down her cheeks. He met her stunned expression as he carried on.
"I'm not willing to lose you yuri...Please... I have seen enough tragic in my life to lose my baby sister now I cant... you've seen father... be damned if he finds out what you are planning to do... he suffered enough don't do this to him" his pleaded gaze begged her not to go and hunt for the vampires . As she looked in his swirling black eyes, she considered a moment to think before she answered.
"Tell papa I'm sorry"
"YURIIII!!!"
She fled from the grave yard at a high speed where she heard her brother's agonized voice calling after her.
It was too late to turn back now... she was going to complete her oath. Vampires are dammed if they plan to get a bite out of her.She went to the forest the only place she could call home. A bird flew past her into a nest full of baby humming birds. The image reminded her of her mother and thought relentlessly about what shes doing might kill her father from the inside. He might be worried sick about her, but its too far to go back now.
