Rayan p.o.v

Graduation: friday

Prom: sunday

Day: wednsday

Me and Craig were having a good time at the mall until I got a phone call from Dr. Jones.

"Hello Rayan?"

"Yes"

"I have bad news."

"Continue."

"Your functional cure didn't work."

"What do you mean?" Tears spilling from my eyes. Craig was to busy devouring a hamburger to notice.

"When I told you it only works for a certain percentage,....you weren't one of those people."

"I understand. Bye." I said hanging up crying.

"Babe whats wrong?" He said grabbing my hand across the table.

"Can you just take me home?!" I said standing up throwing my trash away waiting on Craig to stand up.

He sighed and threw his trash away following behind me to the car. When we got inside the car there was silence. I just stared out the window the whole time back home.

When we arrived to my house I got the car and waved bye but he didn't drive off.

"So are you going to tell me whats wrong?"

I guess I might as well.

"The functional cure didn't work and I still have aids." I said looking away letting the tears come back.

Craig turned the engine off climbing out of the car and engulfing me in a bear hug guiding me into the house.

He brought me up the stairs to my room and laid me down. He sat beside me stroking my face as I drifted to sleep.

Craig p.o.v

I kissed his forehead and went home.

In the morning I decided to text him to tell him I'm picking him up. But he replied and said he was already at school. I shrugged while getting ready and made my way to school.

When I went to the cafeteria I saw Rayan sulking. I sighed and sat beside him.

"Ray please stop."

He sat and looked in my eyes with tears in his.

"I'm not going to prom."

Shock quickly took over me. "What? Why?"

"Because I have aids which leads to death and if I go to prom people are going to be all happy and continue to live while I have to worry about dying and I don't want to be depressed so...."

"But ray-" I was cut off by the bell.

Ray quickly stood up.

"I have to go" he mumbled falling in the crowd easily.

I sighed and walked to class.
