Chapter 5: School

Tessa's P.O.V:

I grabbed my keys and walked out the door ready to go to school. I turn the key, and pull out of my driveway.

I plugged my phone into my car stereo and started jamming out to the playlist Abby and I made.

Apparently, it was a little too loud because the next thing I know, I see Abby singing along out side the window.

I was dying of laughter right then and there, the  people walking by probably though I was crazy.

I parked the car in my usual parking spot. I got out linking arms with Abby as we laughed our whole way to first period.

Since Abby wasn't in my class it was really boring. I don't even know how I made it through.

Ms.Peters was going through the attendance like she always does but then she said that she had in announcement, " Okay class, tomorrow we will be getting a new student, so everyone be on your best behavior and make him feel welcome."

Oh great! I thought to myself, another boy to add to our class drama. And of course with my luck, I will be chosen to show him around.

I went back to doodling for the whole period because again Abby was not there to talk to. Then I see Abby rushing into my homeroom and talking to Ms.Peters. She then grabbed my arm and pulled me out into the hallway. "What happened?" I asked her in confusion. " Look Tessa, I don't really know how to tell you this, but you need to go to the hospital right now!"

I looked at her panicked and said, "Why? What happened?" She slowly and calmly said,"Well, Summer was having some complications with the baby and they think that she could lose it."

"Abby! Why didn't my mom or dad call me and tell me this?" " Well, they thought you would over react and murder something."

I couldn't help but laugh at that comment, before she grabbed my arm and started to pull me down the hallway.

We hopped into her car as she drove me to the hospital. The whole ride was silent. I couldn't believe that my parents told her and not me first. It's not like I would have done anything wrong.

We arrived at the hospital and Abby led me to the room because I was too upset to walk. Once we got to the room we saw my mom, dad and Jason crowding around Summer.

"Tessa, you made it!" My dad said as he extended his arms to hug me.

"Well, I would have been here sooner if you guys called me in the first place."

"We thought that if we called you and told you then you would murder something."

"Abby already told me that seriously am I that bad?"

"No sweetie you are perfect," my dad said side hugging me before returning back to Summer.

I made my way to the bed. At that moment, my mom,dad,Jason, and Abby left the room.

"So Summer how are you feeling?" I asked her in sympathy. "Well, it's obvious that I could be better," before she continued the doctor came in, followed by the rest of my family.

"We have some news," the doctor said in a monotoned voice.

"Summer was carrying twins, and apparently one of the twins wasn't developing properly and died. Causing you to have that outburst of pain."

All Summer could say, was, "Thank you for straightening things out."

The doctor left after she said that. We all looked back at her and she said,"I don't want to be rude, but could you all leave, I am kinda tired."

We all said our goodbyes and left Summer's room.

Summer's P.O.V:

After everyone left I broke down. I couldn't believe that I had just gone through something so terrible.

Jason rushed over to me as soon as he heard me cry."It's okay." He said rubbing my hand. "You cannot control everything that happens to you.Of course we will miss that baby,but it how we over come this that will make us a better and stronger family."

I was at a loss for words but I knew exactly what I wanted to say to him at that moment, "I love you." He kissed the top of my head and said to me,"I love you too."
