The bloodcurdling scream made me want to fall down and cry. I ran into Rebecca's room chaotic. She sits at the end of her bed crying. I ask her what had happened. She said she had a nightmare about her parents. Selfishly I thought to myself, she's actually going to tell me about her parents, not really focused on the fact that she's crying. " I'm sorry I never told you Casey, but when I was 14 years old my parents shot themselves. " They always were depressed. " They never seemed to care about me. " Oh, Rebecca I'm so sorry " , I had told her. " You shouldn't be apologizing " , she said. " I was a jerk for never telling you. " Wow, I thought she's apologizing to me! " Nice! " I added to my incomplete, yet very selfish though. They left me a note saying " Never stay out too late. Bad things can happen to you. " I never figured out what that meant.
