You know how badgers have black stripes on their heads and have a black little body? Well, a long time ago, badgers didn't have black on them, there was only white on them. Well, one badger made a mistake that will make badgers have black on them. Here's the story.

One day in Epping Forest in London, Badger was trying to find a way to blend in his surroundings to eat Hedgehog. He has tried so many things but none of them worked. "You will never eat me, you'll always fail at what you do!" Hedgehog says as he's trotting out of his house which it looks like a leafy cave with flowers to look for bugs for him and his family to eat. The white animal was furious and decided that he needed help to get what he wanted so he went to find his best friend, Fox. Once he found his friend, Badger quickly scurried to Fox and exclaims, "Hey Fox, I need help blending in so I eat that hurtful hedgehog." "Well, I can make you something but I need you to get me some wood and coal." Fox replied as he makes a huge pot with a fire appear. Badger then sets off to get some coal and wood for his friend Fox. When the animal had got the ingredients, he sees his soon to be meal getting some worms and snails for his wife and kids to eat. Hedgehog soon sees Badger and gives him a a glare. "Where are you going you beastly badger? What you'll do will never work!" The prickly creature spat as he waddled away. Badger just shook his head and just went to Fox and gave him the ingredients. Once the red and white animal had made the goop, Badger began to put it on. "What is this called?" Badger asks as he rubs his in the hoop to make the mask and covers his body as well, the hoop felt very sticky against his fur. "Um, I call it tar and I use it to make masks for a lot of the animals here." Fox answered. Badger then nodded and slowly crept into Hedgehog's house as him and his family are eating dinner that tasted salty and sweet. Hedgehog then felt suspicion and looked around since Badger is behind the armchair to blend in, which he did successfully. "W-who's there?! Reveal yourself!" A horrid Hedgehog cried. "Your worst nightmare and you're done for!" Badger whispered and lounged into the Hedgehog family and ate them all! Once the now bloated Badger was done with his feast, he went to a creek and got the tar off, when he got out, he saw saw that the tar has stained his fur. "W-what?! I thought I got it off!" Badger bellowed and scurried over to Fox and told him the problem. "I forgot to tell you that too much tar will stain and I'm afraid it might last forever." Fox confessed so Badger had to spend the rest of his life with the black on his fur and his offspring will have it too from the years to come. And that is why badgers have black stripes!
