In infinitude, yet also a single moment, time unfolded itself in a chain of events before Aequitas. The feeling of being shot forward struck him hard; chaos in the universe, time and space stopped and everything was in ruins. In all the madness, suddenly, Aequitas was alive again. He was alive, a thousand years into the future. The Great War and the kingdoms now legends; deemed fables of the past. A world where mortals now rule with their machines of destruction.

Aequitas was interested in this new world, but yet at the same time full of sorrow. The clouds held no sights of fortresses and kingdoms, the people seemed to have forgotten the kingdoms of old, the heroes and villains, the near extinction of the world; the battle of gods and men alike.

The new world wasn't the only thing that captured his attention, he had skin. He was blinking, heart beating, no longer was he a Tenbris. He felt weaker in this meat sack of a body, slower, yet also intrigued by his new appearance. He had dark blue eyes, thick, black hair, a thin face with a decent sized nose, and a slim frame. ( His nose interested him as he never had one. It seemed to be useless, though.) From asking questions and getting more than a few weird glances from strangers, the clothing he was wearing was apparently called a leather jacket with a T-shirt and Levi's jeans for leggings. He noticed most of his strength was gone, his dark magic as well. It seemed he was turned into a mortal weakling; the strength, and muscles of a dried berry! He might as well just lay down and let the birds eat him.

He decided he would walk into the nearest village, but would later learn they are now called towns. He still had a good sense of hearing and sight, his combat and Darkage training didn't seem to leave him. While walking in the town, he heard people snickering at him, saying, "his kind shouldn't be allowed near them." Aequitas thought to himself in a proud tone, "If I still had my sword, I would challenge those baboons to a fight to the death to prove my honor."

Even though the kingdoms seemed to be gone, he could faintly sense the power of what seems to be the Darkage master, Orshiro Noboru, in a great sleep. This gave Aequitas a sense of hope and yet some dread. Aequitas thought this over, "Darkage could very well come back, but if Darkage is possibly still around, maybe the other kingdoms are as well..." He disregarded that thought shortly after as something else caught his attention. He walked up to a building and the sign on it read, "Library". He decided it was a good place to rest and get more information about this new devolved world he was in and maybe figure out why he saw no traces of magic anywhere.

Some hours later and many books read, two young adult males stalked towards him. They had eyes full of anger and hate, the eyes of men looking for blood. They both wore brown jackets on and identical wooly beards. Both had blue eyes and the same nose, he guessed they could be related to each other. The one on the right spoke first, "What's your business here? Your kind isn't welcome in this town." Aequitas responded in a calm but serious manner, "Learning what happened to this world." The one on the left snickered and responded, "Your kind is what happened to it, you all deserve to be wiped out like vermin!" He proceeded to punch Aequitas in the face, landing him flat on the floor, shocked. Aequitas quickly got up and his hands were suddenly behind his back, while the other boy in front of him was releasing punches onto his face. Each blow hurt like he was getting hit repeatiedly with a hammer. Aequitas thought to himself, "My older, stronger body wouldn't have allowed this to happen." He kicked the person in front of him and jerked himself backward in the process; which led to the person holding him getting slammed into a bookshelf. Aequitas tackled the one in front of him while he was getting up and grabbed his throat, saying, "you're the only vermin I see around you meat bag!" Just as he was about to kill him, the other one threw a chair at him, breaking it into pieces on contact. Aequitas felt bruises and welts rise immediately. He rolled over and suddenly he was getting kicked in the stomach, coughing up blood. He resorted to the only thing he could think of, which he had done before, bite their legs.

He grabbed one of their legs before it could kick him again, and proceeded to clamp his jaws shut on it, as hard as he could. He didn't know which one he got but whoever it was, he was howling like a wild animal. The kicking stopped shortly after, so Aequitas pulled his mouth back, tearing the flesh and muscle of his opponent's leg off. The other person seemed to be horrified at what he witnessed and ran off, leaving his friend behind. Aequitas's now downed opponent, squealing like a pig, was now trying to crawl away from him. Aequitas walked toward him, turned him over, about to squeeze the life out of him; then, he decided he wasn't worth his time. He left the man squealing , contemplating what would drive people to attack him like that.

He slowly walked outside, the sky was cloudy and rainy. Oh, how he wished he still had his skeletal wings, how he wished he could soar above the clouds and fly with the birds! He wished he had his old strong, body back, with his abilities in the dark and holy arts. Aequitas said out loud to himself, "Oh, how everything's changed."
