chapter 3.
i tell you now, winter is my favourite time of the year. But, when its cold outside no one sits out there, which means that the not-that-big-but-big-enough lunch hall was completely full. so there was always someone close enough to hear whatever conversation you were having. lucky me.
" oh Francesca! are you disturbing the new boy? i am so sorry about her, she has what we call, cant-keep-her-thoughts-to-herself syndrom."
i had my eyes tightly shut wishing the ground would swollow me whole, but just because i couldnt see who was speaking (not that i really wanted to right now) but i knew who it was. my my i love my bestie.
"really. and who calls it that?" u could hear the laughter in toms voice as he became intrigued by the tall bruntett standing over me. i whipped my head up to see Larinas' expression turn from amusment to to down right bafflement.
"why everyone of course. it is no hidden fact that Frankie hear is, shall we say, somewhat... confused-"
"ok. so this has been fun," i stood up, using my chair to back Lorry away from the table and away from the smirking tom so i could drag her into the corridor and have 'ster words' with her, " but i rather think that we should leave Tom be on his first day. dont you Larina?" i raised one eyebrow at her. she had tought me how to do that when we were, like, 12, and i was impressed i could still do it. i thought my scowl would have been enough to shut her up, but no. there was no shuting Lorry up when she started.
" no no. i think, seeing how its first day and all, we should make Tom feel welcome. dont you Frankie?" she looked at me, using my own words against me. mean girl.
i looked at Tom to see if was even still there. most pepole would have felt the erge to run by now. i sure did. but Tom was stitting back in his chair wathcing to scene going on in front of him like there was nothing out of the ordinary happening.
he saw me looking.
"like what you see Miss Watley?" his eyebrows raised, his smirk grew and something in side me twisted ever so slightly. i wasnt sure if i liked him anymore.
Larina snorted and pushed me out the way so she could take my seat. what the hell? was i seriously the only one not understanding what was happening? i took a step back. both Tom and Larina were smiling at me. it was unnerving. just when i thought i couldnt take the creepyness anymore, they both... burst out laughing... as if there was something really funny happening that i just wasnt picking up on... wouldnt be the first time.
