Beauty and the Brains (UNDER RECONSTRUCTION)

Chapter twelve

We arrived at the mall and pretty much ran inside since it was cold, and we wanted to make sure we could get what we wanted to get. We chucked in some clothes shopping as well of course. I bought a few empty jars, candy, ribbon and some tags.

We went to get some smoothies and then Elana got a phone call. Once she was done she came back over and said "on the way back we gotta pick up Chinese". I know that sounds like a weird diner to have on Christmas eve but that's my family for you. My real family. Not the poser half.

On the way home we picked up Chinese from the take away round the corner. That's what i love about this area. We left our shopping bags by the front door and sorted out everyone's orders and ate. Later on we took our bags upstairs and piled into Elana's room to watch films. I fell asleep about half way though the third film, but you can expect me to be a light weight now that you know about my condition. I felt a pair of arms gather me up and i instantly knew what was happening. 

The person carrying me stumbled a little and my eyes opened. "Sorry" mason said quietly to me. I knew it was him because of the muscles. He's not one of those guys with the ripply muscles but he's got good ones. 

I woke up the next morning to see that my door was a little bit open and Mason wasn't asleep on the floor bed. He must have gone downstairs. I took this as an advantage. I took the four jars that i got last night and lined them up. I filled Elana's up with sour laces. Ivy's up with different flavours of millions. Masons up with different packets of skittles. And Marshall's up with Reese's Pieces.

In the short time i've known Marshall, i know what he likes. I put the tags with their names on and the ribbon's around the four jars. I walked over to the mirror and stuck my hair up into a messy bun. I put the jars into four separate little bags and went downstairs. I stuck them under the tree where everyone else presents were. I stood up and just looked at the tree. I have so many memories from this house.

"Leopard print onesie and fluffy rainbow socks" a voice behind me said. Dang (mental face palm  ). I felt warm arms come around my waist and i turner round to face the spy. "Hey Mason" i said. "Morning Beth" he replied. We were sat on the sofa watching some Christmas TV program and then everyone else came in. Teresa (my aunt) said "come on kids get ready we've got guests coming in an hour". We all groaned simultaneously and went to our rooms. Mason got ready in the bathroom while i got ready in the room we were sharing after i had a shower.

I put on a deep red long sleeved knee high figure hugging dress, black tights, my long white knitted cardigan and a pair of reindeer studs. I brushed and blow dried my hair and then put it up into a near bun leaving a bit out to frame my face.

Before i went downstairs i stuck my fluffy rainbow socks back on. They are soo comfy. I was sat watching the same program we left on and Ivy walked in. She had the same dress but in deep blue. Bell studs. A long black knitted cardigan, fluffy polka dot socks and her hair in the same way. Its a twin thing.

Me and Mason were watching the TV while everyone else was doing something. We were in the middle of a great Christmas comedy, Home alone, The first one when the door bell went. "Can one of you get that" Teresa shouted into the living room. I got up and walked to the door. The door bell went again and i said "Yeah calm down i'm coming". I opened the door to see dad, Carly, James, Jamie and another woman next to dad that wasn't Sharlene. Thank god for that.

For the next few hours we ate the meal that Teresa and Dave (my uncle) had cooked. All of us pilled into the living room and got the gifts we had to give from the conservatory. It had taken about an hour to exchange the gifts we had. I got more fluffy socks (yay), a tun load of sweets, a new phone case and an empty photo frame that can hold loads of photos.
