Present Day

I jolt awake from my nightmare, it is the same one I have had for years, the day I was rejected. At the mere age of 14 years old my mate Alpha Cantis rejected me because he was told I am mute. Although it is true it still hurt that my mate didn't accept me for me. Directly after he rejected me my Alpha banished me from the pack, to this day I think their intention was to kill me.

Now, 4 years on, I am a mute, 18 years old rogue. Rogues are frowned upon by packs because to be a rogue you had to have done something really bad to be banished. Usually leads to them attacking packs and kidnapping Lunas for revenge. However I just kept going. I never stopped. I left the country and began a new life in the forests.

After finally rising from my 'bed' I start running. Every morning I tie my unnaturally red hair back and go for a run, generally around 10-12 miles. I never went back home I just kept going. After the run I practice my fighting skills, sometimes I practice on a tree to check my strength then I hunt for food. Once I eat my breakfast I continue running.

However today I only get to run 6 miles before crossing pack territory, immediately I am attacked by 3 wolves, I easily take down the first wolf. A sharp bite to the neck immobilizes them for a few hours. Stupidly I let my guard down and soon I too am knocked out.

I awake for the second time today; I am tied to the wall and in front of me sits a man. His piercing blue eyes contrast his olive skin. From the aura of power which surrounds him I can tell he is an Alpha. Frightened, I inch away from him, however this only informs him of my consciousness. He snaps him head up, I close my eyes and prey that he understands I am mute.

I soon realise why they kept me alive, they want to know about the rogue group that has been terrorizing the pack. He yells at me to answer him, to tell him the plans but I just stay there. I sit in silence, with tears running down my face. I whimper in pain. The alpha looks at me, groups of emotions flash through his eyes. Eventually he stops beating me. He orders someone to put me in a cell; I am roughly picked up and dragged into another room. Thankful for some peace I begin to heal. Another good thing about me is that I can slightly tolerate silver; my past gives me that strength. I can tell I'm fading fast I have little energy left before I fall unconscious. My sight blurs, I fall to the floor.

The next morning I am abruptly awoken by the Alpha shaking me, "Get up Rogue," he says it as though I'm a disease, "We've got work to do." I scamper from the cell not wanting to be dragged again. Unfortunately he sees this as a sign of compliance and rushes to get ready. I brace myself when I see the range of weapons at his disposal. I see silver whips, knives and knuckle blocks. Hesitation flashes across my face, the Alpha sees this. "Don't worry; I'll only use those if you fight."

He lines me against the wall and picks up a whip, I whimper at the sight of it. He smirks and hits me three across my back. Only then does he say, "Who are you working with?" I stand there unable to answer. He hits me again. I don't have times to answer this time. "How many of you are there?" I quickly hold my hands up before he can hit me again. He stops. Thankful for a break I catch my breath. I hold up my finger and point at my throat, the scar on my neck as prominent and ever. Confusion covers his face. I motion that I cannot speak. Finally understands, "You can't speak?" I hurry to show my affirmation. The Alpha lowers the whip to his side. "Fine," he sighs shaking his head, "I'll go call the pack doctor to see if you are telling the truth." I fall to the ground, shaking with relief.

I don't have to wait long before he returns. The doctor approaches me slowly, almost cautious. I sigh and walk closer. The doctor sees that I am not scared and begins examining me. First my throat is looked at then looked down. Having already received this examination before, I don't hesitate doing as the doctor says.

Eventually the doctor finishes and says, "it's true Alpha, this girl is mute." At the mention of my gender the Alpha's face falls. I suppose my figure isn't exactly feminine, due to my years of starvation. I signal it the doctor that is can write my answers, I suppose my old pack wanted me to at least be able to communicate with them. As the doctor turns to relay my message to the Alpha, he faints. I follow standard medical procedures to help the doctor revive the Alpha. When the Alpha begins to stir I jump back to my original position. The doctor helps the Alpha up and says, "Alpha, if I may, I think you will not need to torture this rogue anymore. In fact she is willing to give up answers voluntarily." They both look at me, the doctor smiles encouragingly and the Alpha scowled. I nodded and motion for some paper and pens.

Once I receive my writing equipment I wrote 'Hi, I'm called Alex. I have been a rogue for 4 years.' The Alpha immediately asks, "Are you working with the rogue group terrorizing my pack?" And so I write...
