He thought about him hard and the pencil began to sketch the images on the paper like magic. It was always a great time waster when stuck on the usual job of the "Sentry", well at least that's what sans thought. However even if the job was extraordinary or the reincarnation of hell it was still a great time to sit and fantasise about the monster who had captured his heart and soul in the deepest prison of magic; his brother Papyrus. Boss. Letting out a deep exhausted sigh into the red saturated underground he attempted to clear the thoughts from his mind.
Of course the percentage his brother loved him back in the way he loved him was so incredibly low it stung that the thought could even exist. Even if he did the thought of dating was so frowned upon the value of it was questionable, let alone dating his own brother.
His eyes dropped. The stupid drawing of him and his brother sharing a warm embrace left like echoes of the pencil lead. Shift was up. He found himself pushing himself of the chair using the counter until he stood, back arched with red worn converse trapped under mounds of snow. One last glance of the newly found piece of art he found himself frowning once more before taking the steps away from the station to traverse winding roads to make the trip home.
Golden lights kissed the snow as footprints trailed the monster like a bread crumb trail. He was about 5 minutes from home when he saw the over looming shadowy figure up ahead. His heart sank once more, the rough edges softened by ripped damp fabric that fluttered in the wind every so often making itself a bed for a snowflake or two.
"Boss." He finally forced out, booting the word from his mind like an emergency eject.
"What took you so long?" He growled seemingly frustrated consumed in a growing rage that provided an undertone of worry and panic.
"Took the fuckin' long way 'round," The answer was short lived as it was swiftly issued punishment. The stinging pain of the palm of his brother's boney hands from the scaphold to the distal phalange each little bone coming with an equally merciful bite. His skull moved in the direction of the other's hands as he simply forced a sarcastic "Ouch."
"Get home quicker next time." His face softened, the previous scowl turning into his usual 'neutral frown' more tired appearing then Red previously remembered.
"Sure." He sighed the familiar sigh once again the foggy air singing and staining the air for continuous awkward seconds.
"Hey, Can I ask you something Boss?"
"What?"
"Why are you-" The sudden turn of his brother, sharp rough movements as if his body was the traitorous dagger Macbeth had slain so many with. "It's nothing. Let's just..Go home.""And what? Sit around and do absolutely nothing useful or productive in the slightest?" His tone was controlling, strict and harsh yet he was telling an honest truth.
"Well, Yeah. Basically." He sighed the brown tinted fur around his jacket hood not enough to keep him warm. "I love you." He muttered under his breath after watching the other already begin to pace home.
