Kendall's POV
A gentle breeze tickles my rosy cheeks as I move; pacing swiftly through the meadow as the morning dew glistens off the leaves surrounding me. I chase the warm sunset peeking above the horizon; slowly disappearing into a thin line. However, before i could reach it, I am pulled from my sweet dreams as a loud ring blares from my phone. I immediately jolt up from my bed and grab my phone from the nearby nightstand.
"Hello?" I answer groggily.
"KENDALL! IT'S 7:30. SCHOOL STARTS IN HALF AN HOUR!" bellowed my best friend Aleah through the phone.
"Thanks," hurriedly I end the call and rush to the bathroom, grabbing a fluffy, white towel on the way. After a two minute trip to the shower, I rush to my walk in closet and pick out some distressed denim shorts, a black top and a maroon cardigan; swiftly throwing it in and grabbing my backpack before heading downstairs.
Grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl before shouting "Bye mom, Bye dad!" And heading out the door.
To my relief, I find Aleah with an impatient look on her face, tapping away at the steering wheel of her mint green Mini Cooper. Her perfectly manicured nails moving effortlessly at the leather. She appears to be wearing a lace black skirt paired with a floral top and a denim jacket to top it off. Personally, I couldn't wear anything like that but she pulls it off stunningly.
"Aleah your a life saver! Thank you so much." I say as I slide into the small convertible.
"Yeah, yeah I know. But your coming with me to the mall after school. It's been forever since we've went together!" She looks at me excitedly, a large smile spread across her lips.
I just sigh and roll my eyes at my best friend, focusing my attention out the windows as we make our way to school: West Eagles High School.
At School
Simultaneously, we step out of the car and walk side-by-side to the main entrance. As I look around, it looks like nothing has really changed: everyone looks pretty much the same as last year though there are a few unfamiliar faces around. I make a mental note to approach them sometime.Walking inside, me and Aleah began chatting about our subjects this year. I chose the core subjects, but also Spanish and Art. Aleah on the other hand, chose similar subjects but had Home Ec instead of Spanish. I don't blame her: she can make a mean chocolate cake!
As we got to our neighbouring lockers, we overheard a group of girls gossiping about two new students that were arriving tomorrow.
"Who do you think it is? Whoever it is, we should try to be friends with them." As being a new student myself 2 years ago, I know how hard it is to fit in and find friends on the first day. Luckily for me, I instantly found one when I bumped into Aleah after getting lost in the hallways. From then on we became best friends; we weren't popular but we weren't losers who didn't associate themselves with anyone at all. Speaking of friends...
"Hey Kendall, Aleah!" Hollered a voice from down the hallway.
We both looked around to find 1the owner of the voice only to find ...
"BOO!" Aleah and I shrieked from the shock as we turned to see who would become our next victim.Aleah and I shouted at the same time.
"GRAYSON!"
"COULDV'E JUST SAID HI!""Whoah, whoah. okay. Ouch.
Stop. I promise I won't do it again!" mocked Grayson as we continued playfully hitting him.
