Dear Diary,

Hi. It's me. Lilly. I just turned twelve last week and one of the ladies that works at my grandma Jackie's nursing home gave me this journal for my birthday. She told me it's good for a growing girl's mind if she writes down things about daily life. So that's what I think I'll start doing. Right now I'm just sitting in the waiting room at the Glenda Wilkerson Nursing Home, waiting till I can go in and visit with my Granny.

I have had this journal since my birthday, but I didn't really have time to write, or really anything to write about. But today is Saturday, so I have a little more time. I have a busy life for a twelve year old girl, I think. I'm home schooled from morning until noon, five days a week, and I like to spend a lot of my afternoons and free time looking after my granny. She likes to tell me stories about her child hood and her old friends, and even some made up stories about her imaginary friends here at the nursing home. My mom thinks that granny is going crazy a little. That's why she's here at this specific nursing home. They specialize in mental rehabilitation and care. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with my granny. She doesn't seem crazy to me. All she does is tell really good stories.

Anyways, I have to go now. It looks like they are about to let me go spend some time with Granny, so I'll write later.

Till next time,

Lillian Lloyd
