“Luna, you will make it through, I promise” My mum wheezed. Her hand grasp was tight and it started to weaken. “Please look after Mina well” She says weakly. “I will” Luna says, holding back tears. “You can use my savings to care for her, I love you”
I take all the details, and Mina. She looks at me with big eyes. I groom her black hair and kiss her on the head. “Everything will be okay” I whispered
“Stupid door why won’t you open” I yell. Mina is crying and I have to get inside. “Hold on sweetie” I say. “Do you need help?” I hear from behind me. I turn around, and it was one of the neighbours Suga.. “Uh sure” I stutter
He pushes the door hard and it opens “Ah thank you” I say. “You’re welcome, is this.. Your child? I didn’t know you had a baby” He gasps “No! This isn’t mine, it’s my sister, I am caring for her, until my mother is better” I say
“Oh, how long is that?” He asks “I don’t know” I say starting to cry “I have no help and I don’t know if I can do it alone”
“do you need help?” Suga asks. Mina is crying and I am trying to calm her. “No its fine, really” I say
“Are you positive?” He says with big eyes “YES I AM SURE” I shout. Suga turns and walks away.
Mina starts crying louder, oh please stop “Suga wait!! “Can you please help me?” I say
He smiles “Sure can” He lifts Mina up and starts rocking her. Singing a lullaby. He walks inside. Mina starts to quieten.
Suga puts Mina down. “You know in favour of this, you should do something for me?” He says getting closer. “Maybe a, kiss?” He says. I go lean in for one, then “Ha-ha-ha I fooled you” He laughs. I frown “Seriously, don’t do that”
“Oh, so you wanted to kiss me?” He says with widened eyes. “No!!” I smile and throw a pillow at him. “You would make a good father” I say not thinking. Suga glares at me “I what?!” He yells
“Oh I am sorry” I say
“HA-HA-HA You should have seen your face!” Said Suga. “OH MY GOD” I yelled
“You know you should smile more often” Suga says. I look up at him “You are super cute” He says playing with Mina’s hair
Suga looks at me “Look, I know what we can do, we can work together as a family, you be he mother and I be the father” He says looking deep into my eyes
“th- the father?” I say. Suga picks up Mina, and carries her inside “I love children so I think it will be easy” He says cooing at Mina. “But we are both 17...” I trail off.
Suga looks at me. “I know, but you can’t do this alone, Luna, I will go pack my bags and come over”
He gently passes me Mina and walks out. No way he could be helping me? He only lives a few doors down but we never spoke, I was always too shy.
I hear banging and Suga walks through the door with his suitcase. “Oh we need to get some food and nappies” I say standing up. “Okay well, I will get the pram” Suga says, pushing the pram to me.
