"Omigosh!" Audrey squealed. I wanted to run out of there but my bones seemed frozen.

"I-I di- I- ple-" I stuttered. The words wouldn't come out of my mouth the way I wanted them too. All I earned were laughs from every guy in that change room.

I frigging walked into the wrong change room! I could feel my cheeks burn up as they probably turned a dark shade of red. I saw some eleventh grader and twelfth grader boys either dressed, or dressed with no shirt on. I was completely humiliated!

"Sorry. We'll be out of your way." Audrey said dragging me out of there and into the girls change room.

Audrey started to laugh with me about what just happened. We received weird looks from the other girls in the change room before getting dressed and walking out to the gym. We walked to our normal spot as we laughed before I bumped into someone. I looked up and saw his ocean blue eyes staring down at me.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't see you." I mumbled loud enough so he could hear me.

"It's okay." He said in a rather joyful tone. "See ya tonight." He said before he winked at me then walked away with his friend.

"Oooooooo." Audrey teased. I shook my head before playfully hitting her in the arm.

Our gym teacher soon arrived and gave us our instructions. We get to climb a rope. Yay. Note the sarcasm. I've never been able to climb to the top of the rope. I really don't want to embarrass myself if I can't climb to the top.

"Reese! You're first!" Coach Collins called out to Donna.

"Awesome!" She cheered before taking her turn in climbing the rope. It took her only 2 minutes to climb to the very top before she dropped to the bottom with a perfect landing.

"Good job." Coach Collins said. "Fields! You're up!"

Uh oh. I walked slowly to the rope only earning a loud whistle being blown in my ear. I started to climb only making an inch difference from where I started. Donna scoffed at me with her arms crossed. I continued to slowly climb, not getting a better grip what so ever. A minute passed and I was only 3 inches higher than where I was.

The whistle blew, my eardrums banging. "Fields! Off the rope now!"

I jumped off like the wimp of a person I was and walking over to Audrey. Great.

Class soon finished, and as Audrey promised, she took me to my swim class. I walked out of the change room - the right change room - with my bathing suit on and a towel in my other hand then beside Audrey who was sitting on a bench near the pool. I saw Logan walking out of the boys change room. He saw me and walked over.

"Hey Sel! Ready for your lesson?" He asked as his voice lightly echoed being the only people in the building.

I slightly nodded and followed him to the pool. He jumped in and swam over to the stair steps, the waves in the pool got a little bigger, intimidating me. He held out his hand and looked up at me.

"You can do it Selena," he said as I took one step into the water. "You're off to a good start already." I smiled at his comment.

I don't know why, but I feel like I can overcome my fears right here, right now.

But don't get me wrong! I'm still hiding my miniature anxiety attack and trying to ignore the little voices in my head. I grabbed onto the metal railing taking another step in. The cold metal sent a chill up my arm and down my spine. I took a deep breath in through my nose, then out through my mouth.

I looked over to Audrey who was watching with a little smile on her face. Her top teeth barely showing. I looked back to the water and stared at the deep end. Thoughts made their way into my mind. Negative thoughts. Thoughts about when I was a child. The little smile that had skated on my face soon fell to a small frown.

Logan's piercing blue eyes burned wholes into mine as his joyful smile fell as I took one more step. Not the right way though. Instead of actually stepping into the pool, I stepped out of the pool. I looked at Logan, tears almost forming in my eyes.

There was something there that made me not trust him. I just couldn't figure it out. I felt like if I stepped in, he'd let me go, just like my parents did. Thoughts of them circled in my head.

"Selena-" Logan started before I ran into the change room.

I heard the door slam. I grabbed my bag and ran into a bathroom stall. Why? Why does life hate me? Does someone up there hate me or something? What the hell is wrong with me? Why can't I just step into the pool. It's just water! I drink it on a daily bases! It can't hurt me! Well, maybe it can. But not really.

I slowly stripped out of my bathing suit, changing into my casual clothes tears streaming down my face as I heard Audrey running in.

"Selena? Selena, are you in here?"

I walked out of the stall looking like a hot mess and barrelled into her arms, tears staining her shirt. Why me?
