Nothing Lasts Forever [Kaylor Short Story]

It was still afternoon when Taylor had left the tent.

She didn't know where to go next so she decided to start walking.

She didn't know where she was going, she just walked aimlessly.

Minutes passed.

Then hours.

Scott worried, went to ask the last person that she had been with.

He walked to Karlie's tent only to find the girl pacing around.

He cleared his throat.

"Karlie?"

The girl totally surprised lifted her head.

"Scott, what are you doing here?"

"I haven't seen Taylor for a few hours, do you know where is she?"

"Hours?"

"Yes, and before leaving she told me she was coming here."

"She came but she left like a while ago."

"Where?"

"I- I don't know..."

Scott sighed and brought his hand to his head.

"How can- God I have to find her."

"Weren't you sick?" Asked the actress.

"Yes, but I have to find her. It's getting dark."

"No, I'll go."

And without thinking it twice, the blonde woman left, leaving a worried Scott inside her tent.

Karlie started walking to the hill they had met all those days ago.

She really hated that they were in a desert and couldn't follow Taylor's footsteps.

She walked for hours when she found a shadow next to a tree.

"TAYLOR?!" She shouted.

The shadow seemed to stand up.

"Karlie?!"

Karlie let out a sigh of relief and ran to the tree where the older girl was sheltered.

Taylor quickly smiled when she saw the taller actress approach her, but just as quick as she had smiled, her smile faded when the girl shouted.

"Are you insane?!"

"I–"

"We are in Africa in the middle of a desert! Something terrible could've happened to you! We are surrounded by wildlife! Taylor you–"

Karlie saw herself interrupted by Taylor's arms wrapped around her.

She couldn't be angry with her.

She just looked like a lost puppy.

She hugged her back tightly and kissed the top of her head.

They stayed in that position for several seconds until Taylor broke the embrace to kiss the younger girl on the lips.

"This is gonna take me down..."
