Natalia Vega grew up in New York, absent father, single mother. She had younger brothers who were twins, she took care of them most days. Their mother was a drug addict but tried her best to be a good mother. She was clean for a while but relapsed and overdosed.

Natalia never did drugs, she delt them to pay bills and to help her brothers. Her mother died when Natalia was eighteen, her brothers were thirteen. She had to deal drugs and do unspeakable things to help her brothers. They were everything to her. The twins died at the start of the apocalypse.

She traveled down the coast after they died. She stayed in Pennsylvania for quite some time. She kept going after she had almost got killed by a group of men. Next was Maryland, that only lasted a few months. She ended up going to Virgina and found a whole community.
