"Wait a minute, wait a minute. So you mean to tell me that you found a dusty old book in the middle of a spooky forest that talks about mythological and mysterious creatures, and you want to look for those creatures." Dipper and I were in our attic of a room in the Mystery Shack. I sighed and smiled.

"Precisely." Dipper grinned and layed back on his bed, his legs dangling from the side, swinging back and forth like a pendulum. As I was about to speak, we heard a call from downstairs and we both froze.

"Uh oh. I think I can hear our uncle. Don't move." Dipper's legs had stopped and he was now sitting up, his eyes wide as he listened intently to the air, our room uncomfortably quiet.

"Kids!" Our uncle called from downstairs. Dipper and I both groaned, bracing ourselves for what layed ahead. Once me and my brother had stumbled down the stairs and somehow made it through the kitchen, we found our great uncle sitting in his recliner, watching a show on the t.v.

"What do you need Grunkle Ford?" Dipper asked, putting on a happy face.

"Could one of you go get Robbie? He forgot to clean the Windows. Again." I instantly blushed and cleared my throat.

"I'll go tell him." And I raced off before either of them could see the red in my cheeks. As I walked towards the gift shop, I prepared my words. "Hey Robbie! Funny seeing you here!" I shook my head. "No, no. Um, how about, Hey Robbie, Ford needs you to clean the Windows. Yeah, that's simple enough." I smiled and tuned the corner, but before I could continues, I found myself falling backwards and yelped, the sound making me cringe. I landed on the ground hard and rubbed my leg.

"Oh, Mabel. Are you okay?" Came a voice in front of me. I froze as I recognized who the voice was coming from.

"Oh umm, h-hi R-Robbie. I umm." Robbie held out his hand and I reached for it. He pulled me up and I smiled gratefully. Robbie chuckled and adjusted his guitar strap. His black beanie had fallen off and he leaned over to pick it up.

"Sorry Mabel. I didn't see you there. I was just heading to talk to Ford." Robbie said, casually explaining his plan.

"Oh, umm, speaking of Ford. Well, he needs-"

"Hey Robbie!" I gulped as Wendy walked through the door.

"Hey Wendy, what's up?" Robbie turned his attention to Wendy and I sighed. Well, it had been a good thirty two seconds. Wendy threw me a dirty look before continuing to talk to Robbie.

"The gangs waiting, we're going to the carnival, wanna come?" Wendy knew what the answer would be even before she asked.

"Hang on, there's something I've gotta take care of first." And with that, Robbie turned towards me and smiled.

"What were you needing?" I gulped and tried to speak.

"Well umm, Ford was needing, well, I guess-" I sighed and lowered my head. "Never mind."

"Well if that's the case, let's go." Wendy said impationtly. She then turned and opened the door, holding it open for Robbie.

"Bye Mabel." Said Robbie as he crossed through the doorway, not even bothering to look back. Once Robbie was out of range, Wendy smirked at me and bared her teeth.

"Later loser." And with that, Wendy and Robbie were gone. I sighed and closed my eyes. Why can't I just talk to him?
